Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

Target eliminated DEI.

Twin Cities Pride told Target to GTFO, then announced they needed to raise $50K to cover the gap.

Twin Cities Pride has since raised $89K.

I don't shop at Target anyways because it's crap...but seeing how much it has affected their business is delicious.

Target has always been two faced on these issues...I'm glad to see people finally holding them accountable.

Y’all remember the John candy movie the Great Outdoors? Where the guy at the bar stutters and says he’s been hit by lightening six six six six six sixty six times?

Seven seven seven seven seven teen times Christ

Now I only teach Economics and business and am not a very stable genius but lowering demand will definitely have an affect. Not sure Inflation is what will be affected the most though...

"Increasing labor supply and lowering aggregate demand" would mean increasing unemployment and decreasing consumption, which would be better known as economic contraction, or for the slow kids in the back lobbing spitballs at Handy...A FUCKING RECESSION!

But we all knew that was the plan. Meanwhile, America's unwashed mouthbreathers were trained like Pavlov's dogs to foam at the mention of DEI. Look over here and fear the darkies while we rob your pockets blind!

If Inflation was at COVID levels I could see the argument for a targeted recession in the hopes of curbing it. Right now? It is going to be about 3% slowing down the Economy (on top of the already recessionary things he is doing like stupid tariffs and cutting off NIH funding) has the potential to be Hoover level stupid. But hey, at least 1% of the population (Trans People) can't play sports...or something.

My HS students understand the economy better than the average (majority even) Republican.

I think he’s going for depression

After seeing a LinkedIn post from a now former MD who made the decision to resign after this announcement, I went out and confirmed this news. I'm not at all surprised. AFS rakes in the billions and the global execs aren't about to fold an entire subsidiary due to a stupid US policy change.

That said, I used to respect Julie Sweet when I worked there, but she and the whole c-suite can eat a bag of dicks now.

Yes why take a different tact and try and fix the issues that upset people. That would be crazy! I know...hire a firm to go after the people you ripped off or helped NotAlive and bully them! That will surely stop the next Luigi.

SharkNinja CEO says tariffs won't make him shift production to US, will instead shuffle production to non-Tariff'd countries.

“Our industry doesn’t exist in the U.S.,” Barrocas told Bloomberg News on Thursday. “The product is not made here. The components are not made here. This is not like the car industry that you could say, ‘Well, let’s flex it back to the United States.’ That is not something that we believe is on the horizon.”

Twenty-one states and Puerto Rico have OSHA-approved plans that cover private employers as well as state and local government employers. Five more states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have plans that cover only state and local government employers.

The list of states is actually a bit of a surprise.
