The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Personally, I think that these four (being all 05s) see that playing time here next year will be tough. As I put together the roster for next season, we had over 30 which is a large group of players. I can see Bazin and Co going back to the Major Junior ranks next year to try and fill a spot or...
Since it's public information, Coach Bazin makes $394K/year, while UMass coach Carvel is showing as $621K this year. You could argue (and I would) that those two have had some success and are worth the pay (albeit 57% higher for Carvel is surprising).
OTOH, because I constantly laugh at this...
Considering we have 8 defensemen for next year set to return next season, and then have three commits that are either '06 or '07 birth years, I guess it's possible that one of the latter three gets moved out another year?
Defense (11):
Seniors: Sean Kilcullen
Juniors: Daniel Buchbinder...
To give some credit to another program on campus, after the first two years of hiring Kyle Zenoni saw only two wins each season, Lowell Men's Soccer seems to be picking up some momentum. Last year, they finished 6-5-5 but missed the AE playoffs. This year, they finished 7-6-3 and made the AE...
5 home games played and twice we've been shut out. In 9 total games, 21 goals scored (for an average of 2.3 GPG. Take out the two games against winless Mercyhurst (0-10 on the year now) and Lowell has scored 1.86 GPG. We've been complaining about the lack of offense for years, and I just don't...
That's awful news for Buchbinder, who I had hoped would take a big step forward this year. And interesting that there's still no comment about Mirko Buttazzoni. I have no idea if we will see him tonight, but I'd still guess not.
Seeing how many players could be on the roster next year (with the current baseline returning and the list of commits for 2026), I'm not that surprised that recruiting is quiet. But I'd also guess there are other schools that are somewhat in the same situation.
So since I'm bored this morning...
Agreed. As I noted, whatever it was isn't acceptable. Call me "woke" but none of those words are acceptable anymore.
I do expect a league (or team) suspension. Coach Bazin says it will be addressed, from a CHN article:
Thank you both for your comments. You're both spot on. Throwing out "racial slur" created a major reaction amongst the fans, myself included. As a POC, I don't ever want to have anyone representing my school/team/whatever that does something like that. And the only way we find out it wasn't is...
Glad we got the sweep. I can honestly say I expected a split because we've seen enough of this program to know that no matter who's on the roster, they play down to certain teams. So I was extremely pleased to see that comeback on Saturday night.
I'm wondering if it's tough for a "newer" D1 program to find opponents? It also might be to help some of the local D3 teams? I know I've said for a couple of years that it's too many.
Going back to the Gill and Merrimack issue...
Interestingly, this is now crossing sports as a major coach in NCAAB wasn't happy about G-Leaguers now committing to play college hoops. Tom Izzo spoke about this yesterday (ESPN article in the link).
FWIW, I agree with Izzo.
