UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Nothing to do with the current program, but Hellebuyck has requested a trade from the Jets.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Seeing that tweet, I wonder if Franssen that was the one he was trying to bring in now? It would have provided him one more year of eligibility as he'll be 21 before the start of next season.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Honestly, I'm more trying to get over the PSU commit that's 7'1, 280!

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I don't know if there's anything to take out of it, but I find it interesting to see that of the 15 commits still listed (which includes 4 that might not wind up being part of the program), 10 are from Major Junior. If I take out those four 2006 DOB (Alibek, Olsen, Jacobs, Kresl) 10 out of 11...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

3.75* according to NZ. He'll be 21 when he joins the program so he won't be in the program for four years (of course, with the transfer portal now, nobody is). At the most, he'd make it to his junior season.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I do find it interesting that there have been a couple of articles by Barry mentioning that they're still looking to bring someone else in for this year. Curious if it's another over 21, or are they trying to get someone to decommit from elsewhere and come into school earlier than expected.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

4.25* rating as per NZ. One of the higher rated recruits we've had in a while.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Not hockey related, but as other sports are about to begin, I was looking at the roster for the Men's Soccer team. I remember a few years ago and looking at the roster for some of the other programs they played and seeing the heavy international side, but Lowell's best year at the D1 level...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I know it's what the sport (or college sports in general) has become, but man, it used to be fun to watch these guys come here and grow each year. Now it seems like a different player is wearing the number each year.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Been a couple of weeks, I wonder if any of the four impacted commits have heard anything?

THN with a couple of quick notes (and some quotes) on the incoming freshmen.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Jacobs, Olsen, Franssen and Kresl could all be impacted.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

FWIW, Chris has moved all five of those to 2027. But that might be just because he saw the same things I did? And he does still have Alibek list.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

With Title IX issues, there's no way that's happening.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

4 seasons where they went 0-13, 0-12, 4-9 and 2-10 (this last season). Not exactly leaving on a positive note with a 6-44 record (12%). That program just hasn't worked at Lowell. No matter the coach.
