The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Thanks for this. We have a third netminder on our roster (Goich) but he never played last year, so I'll give him credit for coming back for his upcoming sophomore year. But I think that Moore and Elliot will be fighting it out for the starting spot here, the only difference is that Bazin doesn't...
While it sucks to lose the players we did (especially the brothers), I'm honestly surprised we only had 6 players enter the portal. I guess that speaks to the team still having faith in Bazin.
Probably won't try, but man I'd love to see Lowell go after Maine's Justin Poirier who just jumped into the transfer portal today. He had a 18-11-29 in 27 games for the Black Bears in his freshman year, which would have had him as the highest goal scorer and point getter for Lowell last year.
With all that's going on with the transfer portal and things, it really is confusing to see how these teams put their rosters and recruiting together. Maine had 8 players join the portal and had 5 seniors. They have 7 incoming players through the portal while still having 35 commits on their...
Grumley won't turn 20 till a little more than a year from now, so I suppose they could push him. But you could argue he had the best numbers of any incoming recruit last year (a PPG defenseman). Olsen just turned 20 about 2.5 weeks ago. So technically both could be pushed, so I'll admit I'm...
So my first attempt at where this roster is now that the transfer portal is open. Anyone in bold Italics is newly added. (since I last did this) I'm leaving Kroll as a freshman in the 2026 class for now, since he started in the second half of last year.
26/27 roster
Defense (10):
Seniors...
Wellenreiter is another 3.75* per NZ. He committed to Maine back in 2022 (wow, that's a long time ago).
So all three of these recent commits are for 2026/2027 (Wellenreiter, McGraw and Sisson). Young is for 2027/2028.
After the portal closes, I'll update the roster when I have a moment.
I was desperately hoping the Buttazoni brothers would stick, so that's disappointing. Johnson I had hoped to see more of this past year, but only having played 4 games, I'm not surprised he's out. I wanted to see what a 6'6" defenseman could do, but really didn't get the chance. Shipley I had...
If I'm reading it right, this part would completely change Lowell's recruiting plans: While the new policy would grant athletes a fifth season of eligibility, the proposal sets a starting date of the five-year clock: age 19 or high school graduation.
More than half of our recruiting classes...
While the transfer portal is being used by a lot of the MBB roster once again, Lowell has picked up the two highest ever commits in the history of AE apparently. Should be an interesting season for basketball if they stay healthy ... but of course, they'll be gone after one year.
I get your frustration, but as Scott noted on the season thread, Norm is likely to sign an extension soon, so you're not going to get what you want anytime soon.
