The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Seeing that tweet, I wonder if Franssen that was the one he was trying to bring in now? It would have provided him one more year of eligibility as he'll be 21 before the start of next season.
I don't know if there's anything to take out of it, but I find it interesting to see that of the 15 commits still listed (which includes 4 that might not wind up being part of the program), 10 are from Major Junior. If I take out those four 2006 DOB (Alibek, Olsen, Jacobs, Kresl) 10 out of 11...
3.75* according to NZ. He'll be 21 when he joins the program so he won't be in the program for four years (of course, with the transfer portal now, nobody is). At the most, he'd make it to his junior season.
I do find it interesting that there have been a couple of articles by Barry mentioning that they're still looking to bring someone else in for this year. Curious if it's another over 21, or are they trying to get someone to decommit from elsewhere and come into school earlier than expected.
Not hockey related, but as other sports are about to begin, I was looking at the roster for the Men's Soccer team. I remember a few years ago and looking at the roster for some of the other programs they played and seeing the heavy international side, but Lowell's best year at the D1 level...
I know it's what the sport (or college sports in general) has become, but man, it used to be fun to watch these guys come here and grow each year. Now it seems like a different player is wearing the number each year.
4 seasons where they went 0-13, 0-12, 4-9 and 2-10 (this last season). Not exactly leaving on a positive note with a 6-44 record (12%).
That program just hasn't worked at Lowell. No matter the coach.
Probably means nothing, but Lowell posted up about 9 incoming players this year. I know I expected more, and did ask about it, and they said this is the incoming class for now.
Here's the list I expected, and I've bolded those that Lowell posted are officially coming:
Senior: Anthony Dowd, Cole...
OK, that surprises me. We own the stadium outright (I think) so what would the expenses be that put us that high? It is good to see that the program is operating in the black though (and according to this, Amherst isn't).
