2027 & beyond: Burn it all down and start over

It was hard to get excited or hopeful prior to Tuesday because I felt so confident in Kamala winning and then was reminded that America is full of racists and misogynists. But, here we are with the biggest blue tsunami we've seen since the Indian Ocean in 2004.

Now that the adults will be in charge of at least 1/3 of the federal government - what do you want to see implemented, if possible - and then in 2029 when we hold everything and Ossoff switches to President?

For 2027:
I'm down with the Daylight Saving Time bill passing. I don't even live in the US but I'd vote for it there and I'd vote for it here too
Have an actual single-payer healthcare plan in place so that when January 21, 2029 rolls around it's just the signing of a document that's already prepared.
Get rid of all the olds in congress. Nine of them are going to die in the next two years anyway but replace them with young, vibrant, democratic socialists.
 
Fundamentally, the Dems need to show that they are making things happen that will improve the life of Joe 6-Pack. Do exactly what Madani has done in NYC: Create things that show immediate results.

Also, they are going to need to explain all the fallout from the Big Bill like we are 5. Show that Dumpy and Co. caused this and that the start of 2027 will be rough.

Also on a side tangent: I wish there was some way that we could go to every R that is currently bitching and moaning about Socialism/Communism/ect. and give them an option to "opt out" of any benefits that will come directly to them since all this shit is bad in their eyes. Like, oh, you think universal healthcare is bad? Ok. You can continue to take on debilitating debt with most medical emergencies then... Make them give a hard answer to this stuff now, before the actual benefits show up to their spoiled asses... They touched the stove, but we are gonna need to be the ones to pull their hand back...
 
Well that's what the public option is. It's there, if you opt in you're covered. If it's better, people will opt in. If it's not, they won't. If people are stupid, they won't. Don't force anybody.

But also don't make it a public option for insurance. Make it a public option that simply pays all your medical bills directly to the doctors and hospitals based on rates they negotiate. A patients' union. From the citizen's perspective, we have free medical care, full stop.

And the result? It will be better care (and free), there won't be parasite middle men and insurers getting rich, there will be such an enormous pool the public option board will negotiate volume discounts, and the whole old edifice will go the way of buggy whips.

Use the market to kill health insurance.

And it certainly won't stop plastic surgeons from continuing to make money off the wealthy hand over fist. 😁

Oversight, investigation, and punitive measures. But never make it seem like we are Bengazi!!!ing instead of doing the people's will.

Throw these criminals in a hole and throw away the hole, but do it off camera. The value is to stop the next round of predators. Don't do it to score political points -- there are no points to be had. Voters are too stupid to realize these people have to be prosecuted. So do it, but don't expect any plaudits. This is trash removal.
 
At this point, the best defense is a good offense. Run the damn ball down the GOP’s throat.

Pass everything and make them go on record voting against it. Medicare For All, taxes on the wealthy, student loan debt forgiveness, statehood for DC and Puerto Rico, all of it.

If Dump wants to be Mr. Veto then let him, and then tie it to every single potential 2028 candidate to it as well.

The enemy is down, go for the throat.

And give him what he wants: The Donald J Trump Medicare for All. Donald J Trump Big Beautiful 1% Tax. The Melania Trump Student Loan Forgiveness.

Make Republicans AND Trump face rejecting those bills.
 
First things is get rid of Schummer and Jeffries. Next Citizens united. Insurance is going to be a battle but needs to get done. Somehow Solar needs to be emphasized once again . Tax credits etc. Cheapest electricity at this point. Storage needs to become the next Manhattan project.
