Sun Devil Hockey

Dude look at yourself in the mirror, are you proud of what you've become? Did Powers take your virginity? Get off his pole.
I get it, you take to a personal attack on me to blow off your frustrations. I was getting worried that you were about to have a stroke over this, but I see you venting, blowing off steam helps. What's the name of your lynch mob, the "Guilty until Proven Innocent Wild Bunch"?

Yes, objective and following English code of justice, not the guilty until proven innocent code.
Boy I wanna live in your la la land, the facts are one of your players is in his death bed, because of your former head coach and your "athletic trainer, also former". To be the kind of person that defends those responsible for this, I can't fathom.

To be a Head Coach at a Division I program is a privilege. No one is implying Guilty until Proven Innocent, because we’ll leave that for the Court System over the next 2-5 years. ASU will see the inside of lawyer’s offices and courtrooms on a regular basis. Simply put, Greg Powers was the head of a program that experienced a colossal failure that led to severe injury, that will likely result in death. Coach Powers will never lead a collegiate program again. He may scout, or find an administrative job in hockey, but he will never again be trusted with programmatic control.

After doing nothing right for the past two months credit to ASU for hiring the best possible guy to be head coach

I'll wait until the civil and criminal lawsuits reveal testimony under oath rather than make judgement based on hearsay, allegations, half-truths. To be the kind of person that convicts others based on such smells of lynch mob mentality.

You don't seem bothered that a kid from the program is basically dead lying in a hospital bed. Strange.

If you think you're taking some sort of moral high road here, let me assure you, you're not. The discovery process in litigation is not going to be kind for Greg Powers.

It's a shame that this cesspool of a school, administration, and hockey program failed upward and just landed David Hakstol as head coach.

I see you're putting your narrative into my reply. Of course it bothers me. I'm not the one taking the moral low road here. I have not doubts the discovery process is not going to be kind to Powers, I've been involved in lawsuits several times. You end up making a very broad statement about a highly rated organization because of a single incident, not very rational.

Easy there.. please wait until the civil and criminal lawsuits reveal testimony under oath rather than make judgement based on hearsay, allegations, half-truths..
Exactly what I have been stating. Discovery processes in potential lawsuits are always harsh, but that is the intent of such.

Side story to Hakstol becoming head coach at ASU: In 2015 UND hosted the Fargo Regional. Hakstol and team showed up at a nice steak house, Cork & Cleaver in Fargo. My wife and I were having dinner there also and we recognized Dave on the way out the door. I got him aside, wife got a picture with him while I asked him to add his weight to the NCHC conference committee to get ASU an invitation to join. Well he shortly thereafter left for the job at the Flyers. Fast forward to now, ASU is in the NCHC with Hakstol at the coach.......funny world sometimes......

Great food at the Cork & Cleaver!

The family's lawyers keep making statements, which affects public opinion. We all (should) know Arizona is hot and dry (I lived in AZ for 45 years; now in ND). He was in AZ only a couple of days. You really don't know what it's like until YOU have experienced it. Someone was definitely negligent.
In AZ, high school football has to be prepared for heat-related medical issues, Water stations, cooling areas, etc. What happened falls between "my bad" and negligent homicide! BUT we need the legal process to do its due diligence; there will be a multi-million-dollar lawsuit if the player lives or dies. Personally, I would not be surprised if criminal charges were filed.

Powers should be sent to the sun, calling his players pussies, having a bro-science trainer push them too much, which led to a young man that is probably never going to recover.

In high school my folks moved us down from Minnesota a couple days before Labor Day each year from Minnesota. The day after Labor Day, I and others had heavy, daily outdoor exercises. calisthenics and 1 hour long runs at 9 AM. No water breaks for an hour. Same weather conditions as what happened here. I was not in as good of physical condition as a typical collegiate hockey player. Back then such activity was a result of President Kennedy's national physical fitness push, Boot camp style fitness conditioning was common. But per university procedure, and from the current understanding of heat effects, absolutely the staff should have had an ice bath available. Probably should have had such at my high school there, but that was before improved understanding.
Yes, lets see testimony under oath. I will not be surprised if civil charges are filed as the outcome only needs to show a preponderance of evidence for damages to be awarded. Then again it could be settled out of court and we'll never know what really happened with an NDA's put in place. And there could be criminal charges, which is appropriate if preliminary findings support such.
Stay tuned.

Omg old man, I suffered so everybody else should? Boomer logic there, everybody is different, just because you survived doesn't mean others would, clearly. Take the L and go touch some grass.
