We just lost to a D3 team, at home, on Laurentian weekend. You’re absolutely right, there is nothing more embarrassing than that. This coach has to go. Now, like right NOW!

That’s really crazy. Hopefully they pull it all together for the last 4 games of the year and give Brekke a 4 year contract for the outstanding job he’s done. Honestly he should be fired for this weekend. That’s so bad

They are a brand new team to D1 with cast-offs from other teams filling their roster. They are easily the worst roster and team in D1. I disagree with you, they are complete slouches and I'd be shocked if they bank more than 5 wins against D1 teams. Maybe Brekke managed to somehow make SLU worse lol
Yup and SLU just lost twice to them on home ice during parents weekend lol.
I feel compelled to stick up for the players that you all just continually crap all over. Standing up for the team and saying something positive is not a popular position to take among this crowd. The Friday night result was extremely frustrating - all the players would tell you that. But I would not call the team an embarassment. It is a fact that SLU completely outplayed Maryville on Friday. SLU hit 6 posts and just couldn't finish. (That's no exaggeration, I just re-watched the highlights on the website.) It should have been a blowout. However, if you let a team hang around long enough - bad things happen. And they did - a tipped flutter shot from the point was the winner. The result was unfortunate - but the Friday game actually showed some positives. (For context - Saturday the team played the game like a true exhibition game. Played everyone and rolled lines. It is, what it is.) You all seem to have a legit interest in this team. So I really don't understand why this forum has moved from reasonable criticism to just constantly demeaning the team and its players. You can be frustrated with the program's recent history - but I'd try giving this group (the players at least) a bit of support after just one game. I won't hold my breath ...

I've been following this team since we were the Larries. This team makes the 70's teams look good.
Positives? We should have beaten (but didn't) a D3 team?
