Bore(d) Tide Report 10.5.26
For some decent stretches UAA stood toe to toe with Denver, overall though flavor of old UAA didn't feel good, but I was impressed by Rocha. Rud's team didn't back down, wasn't dirty per se, team overall looked good with a fresh start. The old man coverage while in the offensive zone but tighter in Denver's case I hoped to never see again, did not like to see no adjustments to it. Spencer has that dog in him, I hope we can keep him for two more seasons. Gramme I still don't care for, aggressiveness I like, positioning I do not. Rocha should swallow up some playing time, though I hope Marks get the next start so we can see truly what we have. Have the goalie competition winner of the first three games start the fourth. PK looked decent, PP needs some work-passing the puck back and forth on one side of the ice is sus. Defense looks better than last year. Good to see Krivtsov, one the home games last season where he stormed off the ice and rung the glass and boards before the fan salute, I knew he was gone, and Shasby's leash was shortened-still didn't think that was it though. I believe last season there was a lot of glass being roughly and lovingly rung by fans. The first game with Denver-that dudes poor girlfriend, the dude in the Douglas jersey-Shasby then was glaring at me though I didn't do anything outside of the norm that night, and then I at the first UCHCup game. We all wanted Matt and the team to succeed, a little too much. Thanks the other Matt for that explanation. I won't apologize for my passion, but I was a bit much in St. Louis. I really wish the Don was still alive, another season without Dunlop, RIP you were a real one. Would've loved to have bought you a beer for our first game back, beating ranked Western in our practice facility. Despite being outscored 10-3, I was pleased overall, mostly due to Saturday keeping the defending national champions honest for a good chunk of the game.
