The Seawolf Hockey Alliance sent an email out to supporters. Most of it was filler info, but it briefly talks about a the dream of a new arena for seawolf hockey.
“There is important work ahead, too, as we continue our efforts toward a permanent home for Seawolf Hockey at a new UAA Community Ice Complex. I believe strongly in what a facility like this could mean not only for Seawolf Hockey, but for our community. If we want to build a strong, vibrant Division I program for the long term, we need to keep thinking big about its future.”
There’s also a ‘Coaches Lunch’ on October 2 with Eric Rud and David Carle. The caption says ‘Join UAA Head Coach Eric Rud and Denver Head Coach David Carle for lunch and hear their thoughts on the season, the weekend series between UAA and Denver, and the state of collegiate hockey in general.’ If I was in Alaska I would check that out.

Kathie is leaning hard on her belief in Rud, it seems the CC and Denver series and then the last UA_ game is at the Sully. The United Collegiate Hockey Cup returns for 2027. The tournament will feature the same five teams as last year; UAA, UAF, Stonehill, Long Island, and Lindenwood.
There were some rumors that Maryville would be included, but that must have not come to fruition.

Great that we scored some goals, newcomers as well. On a personal note I want Contreras to succeed BAD but it appears like Cygan, teams have figured out how to stop and slightly deter him, he should take some notes from Spencer. Speaking of the UCHCup I loved the intensity that Spencer can have, he really has shown it to me since the second game in St. Louis. Love the undersized but fast forwards. Goaltending is still a huge question mark, coach mirrors that Marks is not ready yet to be a starter. I like that Gramme settled down but his positioning is sus. Defense was okay. I prefer Beiber but dude take a step back, you should be a compliment to the game.
New coach does seem upbeat and positive, welcome change-it also probably helps not to juggle three jobs and be a dad.

Some thoughts on this weekend, good to see the new AD having a good time at the games, that's encouraging. Attendance was bad, but the economy is terrible. The amount of free tickets given out to Wolverine games is crazy, UAA might have to go that route as well, the Sully tickets for this weekend are near wide open. Karter is hard not to love, total golden retriever vibes.

I stand corrected on my last post. During the stream the announcers said that UAA has played Mount Royal 3 times previously, 1984, and 1988 (x2). This was their 4th time seeing each other.
I thought the exhibition games went pretty well. I think we could have played better against Mount Royal- especially in goal. I was annoyed when Gramme let in a puck after literally 6 seconds of game time. The seawolves looked much better in game two, where they outshot UMary 42-20.
Attendance was bad. They were exhibition games, but it shouldn't be hard to get rid of 800 tickets
