RPI 2026-27: Houston Field House, We Have Lift-off!

Here is the rundown:

1) $6 is general admission. For that you can sit first come first served in the visitor's section bleachers (behind the visitor's bench) for the lower view option. For the higher view option you can sit in the upper deck on the stadium side again on the first come first served basis. Finally, you can just stand on either of the stadium concourses located either between the upper deck and the lower deck or the one behind the south end zone. Total of $30 for all 6 home games this year.

2) $15 is reserved seating in a specific seat in the lower deck of the stadium. Total of $90 for all 6 home games this year.

3) The best value I don't believe ever even appeared on the web site this year and you have to be a regular to even know about it. That is $50 season ticket for a reserved seat in the lower deck for all six games this year. Strangely, the price is always $50 regardless of whether they have 6 home games like this year, 4 home games like last year or the usual 5.

#3 is the no brainer choice even for a reserved seat. You never have to stop at a ticket window and even if you miss a game or two you still come out ahead.

P.S. I have had two football season tickets for all but a couple of seasons since the stadium opened in the 2000's even though I usually go alone. That fact has shown me quite graphically just what the devastating long term effects of the two year fan ban have resulted in. Remember, in the fall we are dealing with a very successful winning program (almost 70% for approaching 4 decades now!!!). Put simply, before the two year ban I ALMOST NEVER came home with the second ticket unused. If all else failed leading up to the game, there would almost always be someone I knew in line at the ticket window and they would end up with a reserved seat!!! Post fan ban there is hardly ever much of a line and even if there is one I never seem to know anyone in it to give the second ticket to. In fact, I hardly know anyone in the whole place anymore and just like today the second ticket ALMOST ALWAYS never comes out of my wallet and returns home with me unused.

No nice way of putting it. In the year 5 AB (after ban) there are still long term local fans and customers that want absolutely nothing more to do with the place and are simply never going to go there anymore. Period!!!
Tony, thanks for the rundown.

I haven't been to an RPI home football game since they played at '86 Field. It's a long trip from Carlisle to Troy. But it's not out of the question that I might make that trip one of these days. It's good to know what I can expect if i do come

I note that I have seen RPI play in Pennsylvania eight times, and they have gone 8-0 in those games that I attended, most recently at Dickinson three years ago.

Incidentally, Dickinson does not charge admission for home football games, unless it's a postseason game.

In honor of Grayson Burzynski, today is 8 September 2026. There are 24 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 2 October 2026 for the start of next season.

Something about this sentence cracked me up. “Pumped for the season but I don’t think we’re going to be very good” lol. I definitely agree though. Shows how low the bar has been around here lately.
Yeah, a good season for us would be around .500 and better than 40th in the NPI. I'd be excited with a result like that but that isn't a good team; it's still below average in the grand scheme haha. Bar definitely has been low

In honor of Landen Hilditch, today is 10 September 2026. There are 22 days until RPI's next game.

I'll settle for ice, boards, glass and a competitive hockey team in the 2nd half of the year....lol
Seriously! I think like Sez said we will score more but it’s still a work in progress for coach lang. If we can win around 15/16 games with lots of grow for the future I’ll be happy. I really hope they have the hurricanes looking uniforms. Is it me or does it seem like they are taking forever to update the rosters for men’s/women's hockey? Like on the main page? Seems very late

Stopped by HFH this afternoon. No ice signs of boards, glass or ice.... ha ha. Nothing stockpiled in the parking lot that would indicate a shipment of boards and glass. I suppose the good news is the concrete will be well cured if and whenever they get around to making ice....ha ha

Boy they really like to shave it close over there in Troy? Coach lang must be highly irritated?

Yes, that is a safe assumption. He was measured in his responses at the golf outing, but clearly he was irked by the timetable. A member of the women's team told me that the project was originally slated to be completed in time for their August return.
