Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

I see they have an official announcement on the website now. Are players still allowed to wear other brands if they choose. I know they can be very particular about what brands they like, especially skates.
One would think so, like if they had a personal NIL deal with another brand. On the other hand, who knows.

I see Daoust has come back. Still have my 301's I bought in the 1980's. Haven't used them much in the last 20 years. Only a few times for my granddaughters birthday party and a couple of her school field trips.
Usually these agreements are for 100% of players on helmets/pads, 90% on sticks and skates.

Concur, I'm sure the contract excludes them from NIL for helmets/pads. Jerseys are U/A as I remember, but I would imagine, unless a high falutin player that is just so dedicated to CCM/Warrior comes in with a 1st round top 15 NHL draft pick pedigree, they would be more than happy to select from the best that Bauer has to offer in skates and sticks for free :P

We need to start ginning up some ideas for the 26/27 season page here....just FYI folks. Don't leave me in a desert outside of Lancaster, PA!

MY first salvo: Mike Hastings, on Goofer suckery 26/27.

So I asked TM why they would play an exhibition game vs someone like Western MI after the yr started and not during winter break, and all he really said was they wanted to fill 1 of the 2 open weekends.

Couple thoughts:

1) NCAA needs to either allow more games, or

2) they need to not start until middle/end of Oct.

3) why would you play someone like Western considering the impact injuries had on you last year?

I get that iron sharpens iron, esp going into conf play, but id rather they did like a skills challenge/combined practice/3v3/5v5 time & situation limited contact scrimmage instead of a full blown exhibition.

Knowing what happened to Schultz and Hensler last year, I wouldnt want full on contact rt before conf play in Oct? Its difft when they do the USNDTP exh during Christmas break to stay fresh.

But anyway, I dont like it. Maybe im in the minority here, I dont know.

I think it is more important to have one less open weekend. I don't disagree with you on 1 and 2.

Part of me feels starting so early in October seriously hurts attendance competing against football (which Im secretly hoping gets taken off life support this year under Fickell, which would help turn attn to hocmey).

But this could be a proble. Across the D1 landscape. the smaller achools that dont have to worry about football behemoths prob have an advantage here.

Looking back it seemed there were about 39 reg season incl 10-12 NC games.

Really think if NCAA pushed the schedule to middle of Oct and authorized 2 mlre games all this would be solved.
