As much as I hate these facilities, unfortunately, they are going to happen. That is just the nature of "progress". If they are going to happen, put them out in areas where there is little population and a lot of open land. Don't plop them down in backyards and populated areas.I believe this monstrosity is being supported by MIDA, the Military Installation Development Authority, which is an entirely Utah based thing. So it would appear there is some level of military/DOD involvement in this boondoggle. In the area where this could end up, is also a significant Northrup Grumman Rocket facility.
Build them in the rural South and Midwest ...As much as I hate these facilities, unfortunately, they are going to happen. That is just the nature of "progress". **Yes, I know that is a pipe dream with the need for infrastructure, some workers (minimal is my understanding once they are built), housing, etc.**
Yep - it’s the old Morton-Thiokol facility, rebranded numerous times since you-know-what. Currently one of the main sites involved in the Sentinal (next gen ICBM) program.I believe this monstrosity is being supported by MIDA, the Military Installation Development Authority, which is an entirely Utah based thing. Yeah, but it won't need water. It's pretty cool in the Utah desert, right? You know what it doesn’t have? Water. The data center will have to be that big just for the cooling towers that will be needed to sink all that power to air.
Turbo props running gennies 24/7 are loud and even better the pollution they spew out is awesome for the neighborsSure, they create unimaginable heat, waste massive amounts of energy and will use every drop of potable water... But at least they're quiet.
im headed to an environmental conference in sun valley soon, curious to hear what they'll have to say about thisWhile I don't live in Utah, I do live in Idaho just over 100 miles as the crow flies from the area they want to put it. Southern Idaho and much of Utah have been in drought conditions for years. And those areas are growing too. The need for water is ever expanding. I don't believe for a second they will not consume massive amounts of water. The stat I keep seeing/hearing is that it is estimated that this thing would generate 23 atomic bombs (hiroshima) worth of heat EVERY DAY.
Report back. I'm very curious and I'm sure I am not the only one.im headed to an environmental conference in sun valley soon, curious to hear what they'll have to say about this
This would be the perfect year for a massive protest/disruption at the Allen and Co Sun Valley Conference. Will certainly be attended by AI backers. Of course every year would be a good year for protest/disruption at that event...im headed to an environmental conference in sun valley soon, curious to hear what they'll have to say about this
His hands were already tiny....
