TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

Watched the American Gladiators doc on Netflix.

The roid use didn't surprise me, and neither did the rampant drug use, and neither did the fact they only got $500 per episode.

TIL in 2015 Paramount wanted to make the Key and Peele "Substitute Teacher" skit into a full length movie.

I'd prefer a movie about Vincent Clortho Public School for Wizards.

I'm holding out for Midvale:

Hulu dropped a new episode of The Bear today with no notice, a month before the final season is supposed to air. it's an entire flashback episode where Cousin and Mikey go to Gary Indiana on a trip for Unc.

Supposedly was intended to be last episode of season 4, I dunno.

no spoilers but def reveals some interesting backstory before the last season

Nothing close to a corpse. I agree that in general too many series drag it on far too long, but come on Kep I don't think that applies to The Bear so far. Next season remains to be seen.

I would have been happy if it ended last season, and would have potentially wanted more if it ended at season 2. I will watch season 4 as a completionist but I am not looking forward to it.

Final season was very weak, ending was terrible. It was already running on fumes; all the interestingness and originality is gone, it's purely fan service and a recapitulation of characters. Safe and sad.

Should have ended at S2.

S1 E1 of Audacity. I like the writing. I don't like the casting much. Zach Galifianakis sucks, as always, though his character is well written. Rob Corddry is trying too hard. All the children are horrible and should have been cut out of the script although the Marcia Brady with a Boob Job actress is fun to look at. But: Billy Magnussen is great. Meaghan Rath is cromulent. Jess McLeod's character is interesting even if she is a pixel-for-pixel ripoff of a character from Mythic Quest. Curtis Lum is a wonderful asshole.

I'm giving it a chance although I worry the Bloat will take over and crush it with their turditude. Lookin' at you, Zach.

S5 E6 of The Boys made up for the awful prior episode, though I continue to want them to kill off Huey and Starlight as a Red Wedding shakeup (cuz god they suck).

Good plot development, good character development, we meet a fine new sup. The W Plot Arc is alive and well, but I forgive any episode with a lot of Butcher and Sage.

Apple Tv has some of the best shows, but man, how Your Friends and Neighbors already got a third season greenlit (and started filming this week!) is crazy.

Whatever the motivations are behind the lead for Euphoria, it's hard to describe how BAD this latest season is. I had it on accidentally, and then got sucked in by the car crash. My favorite comment on reddit last week was during the live episode discussion, the top comment was literally "I cancelled HBO before the episode was even half over."

Last night Julia Louis Dreyfus sat with Stephen Colbert who is being axed by the Trump administration for a chat. At the end she (as Selina Meyer) read off some stuff she had the old writers from Veep mock up for her about Stephen.

It might be my all time favorite talk show snippet ever. Just fantastic.
