Transfer Portal 2026

When does the portal close?
April 6th for the majority. Grad Transfers can still enter at any time. If there are any more head coaching changes, students at the affected schools get a 15-day window starting five days after a new head coach is hired or announced (or, to my understanding, 30 days after the 2025-26 coach leaves if no new head coach is announced).

When does the portal close?
This is the first year the "window" is so short; 15 days instead of what used to be 45 (?) days.

Thanks for the info. I will be able to sleep soundly on 4/7. Sweet!

"3rd annual transfer portal thread"

Reminding one again that not everyone has to wait for the portal to 'open' to put their name in; grad transfers and players facing coaching changes can enter prior to the "one time transfer window", which this year opens March 15th.

When I started the transfer portal thread at this point in 2024, there were 22 names added to the lists since the first of Feb. In 2025, there had been only four names added during that time frame.

This year so far, there are none.

There are a couple different web sites that have in the past tracked names going into the portal, and either all of them have not yet started tracking and posting this year, or there simply have been no entries into the portal. (One has three names for men's DI hockey, though those three may be "leftovers" from the spring of 2025.)

We'll see what happens where we get to March 15th.

Holy cow, my car wouldn't start this morning because of the crazy Canada frost and I was stuck in the garage. I grabbed my phone and opened spinmama just to kill some time while the battery jumped. Completely out of nowhere I hit a massive bonus round that paid out a huge sum. Fixing the engine later didn't even feel like a chore with all that extra cash in my pocket
It’s the calm before the storm. The lack of names so far is likely because the NIL market has become so sophisticated—players and agents are probably doing more "backdoor" legwork before officially hitting the button on March 15th to ensure they have a landing spot locked in.

Also, with the portal becoming so oversaturated the last two years, I wouldn't be surprised if some guys are being more cautious about entering without a guaranteed upgrade, especially with rosters being so tight.

Once that window opens in two weeks, we'll probably see the usual flood of entries all at once. Which specific teams or conferences are you keeping an eye on for the biggest exits this year?

When I wrote "March 15", it was based on a pdf file with dates from last fall. Around Christmas, the NCAA shortened the portal windows and changed the effective dates for a number of sports, including men's and women's ice hockey,

So, I'm guessing that you're either typing "March 15" but thinking "April 15" for the opening date (which would be "in two weeks"), or you're confusing the men's portal dates with the women's, and/or are simply on the wrong thread.

Whatever the case, the women's DI portal window opened March 23rd, and closes on April 6th (for all undergrads who are not otherwise undergoing coaching changes, etc etc.)

That is. "the storm" hit ten days ago, And closes in five days. And it hasn't been much of a "storm", more a light drizzle.

Hi there! Finding a site that accepts a wide range of local Canadian payment methods without extra fees can be quite a struggle. I decided to test out spin mama casino last night and the deposit process was instantaneous and very secure. The variety of high volatility slots kept me entertained for hours and the payout frequency felt very fair. Wish you all the best and a very lucky week
