BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Can we take some solace that entering the weekend series with BC the Eagles had just swept UConn, were on a 3 game win streak and were likely a tourney team…coming out of the BU weekend they were reeling and finished one spot out of the tourney. Is that the sole banner to be raised😉
Or is it just all the more frustrating that BU didn’t play like that a bit more consistently?

Okay Terrier Nation, who ya got? Who do you want?

I got MSU overall. They have a stud goalie and a lot of talent up front. They didn't get as far as they thought they would last year. I've got an MSU-Michigan final. I know, I know. The Big 10 never wins. They're due.

Who do I want this weekend?
  • I'd love to see Merrimack win, but I'm not ready to live in a world where Merrimack is a Frozen Four team
  • I want to see PC beat QU because Rand Pecknold is a massive tool. But I certainly don't want to see PC go to the Frozen Four 'cause then we'll have to relive 2015 for two weeks.:cry:
  • I'd love to see Dartmouth go to the Frozen Four (Cornell as well.)
Other fun matchups to root for if we don't get the upsets.
  • Michigan-PSU
  • Dartmouth-MSU (Green attack!)
  • Cornell-Western MI
  • PC-North Dakota
Baseball Opening Day. Four college hockey games. Sports heaven

"Human sacrifice. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!"

Jason Tapp is Dartmouth's associate head coach!? He just got a lot of love on the broadcast.

Why can't we get coaches like that? 😁

I want the Bruins to win and qualify for the playoffs - maybe see Hagens make an appearance.

So you're not a college hockey fan. Got it.

I couldn't help but notice Juniors and Seniors scoring big goals in the games so far. I know, we know, but... It's a thing.

BU Hockey: Need Age

No I’ll watch a bit but don’t really care who wins… I suppose in general I’d cheer for the underdog. So maybe go Mweeimack and Bentley?

I was definitely rooting for Merrimack. They didn’t embarrass themselves but HE is already done. Looking ahead, it’ll be interesting to see what Cornell can pull off. Last year, they upset MSU and nearly took down BU. Does Cornell ever underachieve?

I won't be rooting for bluebloods not named BU. Will be rooting for Hockey East. Merrimack has my vote, or maybe UConn, though no momentum there.

Hockey East is dead. Rough year for the conference. Though UConn outplayed MSU, but got goalied. Merrimack hung in there.

I wish Jay would do two things:

1) Recruit a couple of kids NOT drafted early who might stick around for 3-4 years.
2) Work on team building.

The hockey was mediocre yesterday. I'm rooting for an OT game today or this weekend.

Just saw Mercyhurst discontinued their program. Which sucks. But do they have any players that would look good in scarlet and white?

And yeah, pretty poor showing for Hockey East yesterday. Three losses is one thing. I was expecting more competitive games, especially from Providence. But...it happens. Bomber - I was rolling my eyes at the guy in the Wisconsin thread asking you where the BU thread was. Wisconsin won their first NCAA game in several years. BU has gone to the last three Frozen Fours.

Good god, I thought it all started today! Boo! So embarrassing. I guess I didn't miss anything. Guess I'll transfer my temporary loyalty to Bentley or Cornell. And on the baseball.

Right on regarding team building. I heard on one the broadcasts that York once observed that at coaches clinics everyone flocks to the PP and PK sessions but the most important one was team building which does not attract as many attendees but it is the most important one. It is hard to build a team with migrants and mercenaries but that is the state of college hockey today. Got to have 4 year players amongst all the stars.

UCONN was very impressive against Michigan Sate. They completely outplayed MS the entire game and as the MS coach said it was all about Augustine. He stole the game!

Hoping today I am more impressed with the top seeds. Obviously MSU looked bad and though NoDak flashed at times I thought MC was right with them most of the game and certainly the second half of the game were better. All of these games look like slogs.

Feel bad for the Huskies. 92 shots in their last 2 games, and the opposing goalies saved 90! Lundgren has a career game in the HE Final, and then they get Trey Augustine. Yikes!
