Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

On a team full of stars it was really cool that an unsung senior got the game winner. I think Enright missed a season due to injury. Be interesting if she comes back next year much like Picard did this year
Claire wants to be back. I hope it happens.

Someone on here stated there was no money for her, but he hasn't been very reliable. If my math is right, they have 13 forwards for next year, which includes Vasseur. I wonder if they would let Vasseur go, since she can't seem to stay healthy and open a spot for Enright to come back.

If you're going to own the full set, than you need #8 as well.
I don't know about 2006, and 07 - I was still in California. But the first home games in 2010 and 2012, they gave out commemorative pucks for the 2009 and 11 championships. So after 2019, I didn't buy one like Dave is talking about, because I figured I'll get one next fall. But they gave out replica banners instead. So, I'm missing 2006, 2007, and 2019. But otherwise, my collection of five will be going up to six.

Here's the question I have about it. Is this. Vasseur is listed as being a resident of Wisconsin whereas Enright is resident of Minnesota. Is Vasseur's scholarship worth monetarily less because of in-state tuition versus out-of-state, so if you give it to Enright, you won't cover her full cost?

(I *hate* talking about who might and might not be on scholarship, etc. But ...)

I can't imagine Vasseur is on scholaship

Well as far as the game goes, it went better than I thought it was going to as far as Wisconsin not getting dominated like they did in the WCHA championship game for mega large stretches. They weathered the storm a couple times and Ava was fantastic. (It is a complete joke that she's lead Wisconsin to three national championship games and won two but she's not even the best goalie in the league according to some overthinking geniuses LOL). I knew when we went 0/4 on the power play it was going to be a big problem and it was. It's a miracle they survived getting dominated in the Face-Off circle. KK single-handedly tried to give the thing away at the end. She had a couple doses of really bad situational judgment. I'm just glad this class didn't pee this opportunity away and they were able to seal the deal. I don't know that we'll ever see a class with as much talent as this ever again. Enright showed so much poise on that game-winning goal. What an awesome effort.

I think next year is going to be serious dose of back to reality from this fantasy we've been living in the last 4 years.

What a fantastic feeling to win this one. Maybe my favorite of the women's titles.

This time it wasn't tOSU outplaying UW for most of the game and then UW pulling it out at the end like last year.

This was a pretty even game with both teams dominating play for stretches. I'd give the edge to UW about 53-47 and the final score and shot totals bears that out. Eden with two posts or it could have been an easier win. Also should have awarded Hall a goal with a penalty on the empty netter.

Some of our best players were either barely noticeable (Simms) or flat out played poorly (Harvey & Edwards), but this is a TEAM and others stepped up. How important was that month during the Olympics for the others to find their confidence and take ownership and they all stepped up today.

Glorious victory!

McNaughton was a beast and Eden had a great game. Thought Hall was more noticeable than she's been of late and the 4th line was killer, especially in the third.

How about Shappy!?!? 4 or 5 points in the FF as a freshman? How good is she gonna be as the years go by.

I'm already getting psyched to go to another banner hanging game in the fall.

I’m almost happier that the tOSU coach DIDN’T win than I am UW did. 😂
100%

She's awful in so many ways and what a bone-headed challenge.

I thought I was losing my mind during the review as I was saying this should be a penalty if they don't win the challenge but no one on TV was mentioning it. They finally did but it took a while.

With about 3 minutes to go, I said to my group "it's about time for OSU to put too many on the ice."

I wasn't quite right. This year, their crippling bench minor was for the challenge.

It is, but out of the six Junior and senior forwards next season only Gorbotenko is really a difference maker, and maybe Hall. That's where the problem is.

True but Shappy could become one - heck, she already is in some ways.

Is the Slovak phenom coming in the fall?

Can't rely on underclassmen too much of course but I do think UW will at least contend for second place in the WCHA.

tOSU will be the odds on heavy favorite unfortunately.

Also should have awarded Hall a goal with a penalty on the empty net.

I was surprised they didn't look at it. If the OSU player didn't touch the puck after the refs arm went up, it would be a delayed penalty and the goal counted. They didn't show any replay. Have to go back and look at it live again.

Harvey could have put the game away also. Had a wide open net and shot it back into the goalie. My guess is she may have thought MaCloed would move across faster with a pad and open up five hole.

One of the most insightful things I remember my sister saying:

We were watching the Super Bowl after the 1996 season at our mother's house. The game ends, the Packers have won, celebration happens, and then TV goes out to commercial. She says "I wonder how long it will take before we go from being "champions" to being "defending champions"?"

It took about 30 seconds after they came back from commercial.

Can we hold off on "yeah, but next year..." for a day or two?
