BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Despite Eiserman's struggles, he always played hard... sometimes too hard - resulting in a penalty.

That said, Jay and the staff turned him into a 200 ft player from being just focused on scoring goals.

If everyone on the team, regardless of their varied abilities, played as hard as Eiserman - and as Lawrence does, we'd be in the NCAA's and near the top.

That's what's sooo disappointing to me. If they sorted out all the non-hustling 'gliders' on this roster, and filled with team players who worked hard all the time, that would address many of its short-comings.

I won't miss Hutson, nor would I miss Boumedienne, and maybe even McCarthy - who ran hot and cold all season.
Agree about Hutson he ended up being a very mistake prone and selfish player including dumb penalties . The team did a lot of standing around watching him try to make highlight plays. Not going to miss him like we missed Lane. I think the Caps are in for a surprise in a perfect world he’s in AHL player this year and next.

I watched all 4 QF games with an open mind and this is how I would rate the teams based on how they played this weekend. BC-UConn-Mass-MC/PC- NU-BU-ME . BC has the most firepower and to me that’s the difference maker if they get good goaltending. Maine is last because they embarrassed themselves with their effort from the start of the game and then just looked like they were ready to concede after that. Otherwise I would have put the Terriers last .

He had flight issues getting to Chicago. But I like BUalum's answer better.
Like, TSA issues?? I’m flying tomorrow and stressing out about it.

So, Cole Hutson made the top 3 for Hockey East Player of the Year. Now, I think I’m more of a fan of his than most here on this thread and I’m looking at that and thinking uhhhh, huh???

Who are the other finalists for Hockey East Player of the Year?

where did you see this- I just looked and saw Hagens, Nadeau and Hryckowian
Hagens looks like sure winner

If the staff is recruiting guys based on what state they're from they should all be fired. Fortunately, they're not.
I didn’t say that. I did say that we want players who care. There could be a correlation with players who are more local (which wouldn’t surprise me) but I also said that maybe it’s just a coincidence. The point was that I’d like to see more kids who care about the program, or at least play like they do. You don’t agree with that?

I think this is an absurd strawman argument based on rumor and speculation.

How are you able to assess whether the current players do or don't care about the team and the program? I'll give you Boisvert, given his known and widely rumored conduct in the locker room and off-ice. Beyond that, who are any of us to judge how much or little a player cares?

I also completely and wholeheartedly disagree that there is any correlation between that concept and players who are more local.

Wow. I guess you disagree. 😀 I’ve always been a big fan of yours - I’ve followed you on X/Twitter for years - so I’m not sure what prompted that but whatever. Since you asked, I think there are times a player plays like he doesn’t care. And yes, there are some on this board who can assess whether a player cares because they know people close to the program. I know that’s vague but I hope you understand that I can’t elaborate further on a public forum. If you choose not to believe me, that’s okay. Feel free to have the last word too.

One of the glaring things to mookie was how Jay (and all of us) witnessed effort issues at times…many times.
But nobody sat until the penultimate game.
Seems the staff only had 20 players they trusted to put on the ice 🤔

Even at time where guys were out injured the bench had some moss growing on guys (Kim for example).

It's nothing personal, apologies if it comes off that way. I just particularly don't like making assumptions of how players feel or how they care/don't care. That's not our place as fans and beyond what we're able to judge from the stands.
