St. Norbert General

If Fornax is out there, the Hot Saw belonged to the Green Knights tonight. Woof. The Foresters were not good.

And MSOE beat Aurora last night. Trine and Adrian play next weekend. Green Knughts have an inside track on the #2 seed if they take care of business the rest of the way out.

That has been a big if this season, but I like their chances against LFC and Lawrence.

St Norbert scored an extra attacker empty net goal (a 6 on 6 goal) to cap the scoring. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

MSOE takes 4 out of 6 points from Aurora and St Norbert now seems to be in the driver's seat for the #2 seed (as long as Adrian can take a couple of points fro

A solid but rather unspectacular 5-2 win for the Norbs over CUW in playoff opener. I still don't know what to make of this team. Sometimes they look great. Sometimes not so much.

Coach said it well a few weeks ago. When this team is great they are really great, and when they are average they are really average. Last night was more of the latter but a win is a win.

The inconsistency has me concerned as we (hopefully) get into single elimination next weekend.

Right on cue we see the "really great" version of this team. The power play was on fire last night. I don't think I've seen that kind of net front presence from this team before.

It's no longer strictly a winning streak after last year's tie, but St Norbert now has a 50 game unbeaten streak in the conference quarterfinal round going all the way back to 1996. 49-0-1. 25 straight series without needing so much as a single minigame.

Congrats to Dombrowsky, Deics, Garvey, and Beahm on All-Conference nods.

The article mentions Adrian winning their seventh consecutive regular season conference title (Peters Cup). I find this interesting as Aurora won it last year.

St. Norbert has won 19 consecutive single elimination home games. Their last loss in a single elimination home game came back in March of 2013 when they lost to the eventual national champion Eau Claire in the NCAA quarterfinals.

The 2013 loss to Eau Claire snapped a 20 game winning streak in such games. So SNC is 39-1 in single elimination home games going back to 2005 when they lost to St Thomas in the NCAA quarterfinals.

I thought @SNC SID was gaslighting me when he announced Beahm as the scorer on the third goal. After watching the replay it seems like Tim and Chris felt the same way. Must have been a redirect.

Can someone who knows more about hockey than me explain the strategy behind having two of the best offensive playmakers in Hammond and Koufis play on the fourth line? Is that just to create a favorable matchup with the other team's fourth line?

I think of it this way: SNC doesn't have a 4th line. SNC rolls 4 lines...
