It is also unfortunate because it was not "legal" at the time and was basically allowed by the time UNH's probation was over (I don't remember all the exact timing).
Well look you guys need to pick - I see Potluck and 2013 liked this remark. Yet these are the 2 that get so up in arms about criticizing the athletes (again I see better ingredients than the sum of the parts on the ice). This is a nice way of saying Souza has crap athletes to work with, you can't blame Souza.
I think looking back MS7 was supposed to be able to hit the ground running, be the recruiter and set himself up for taking over as coach. Looking at the results, I don't think he knew what he was doing. Maybe it was not putting in the effort, but if you don't know what you are doing and learning as you go lots of effort tends to go to waste.
I would love a split but here is the problem. PC will want to keep winning for a better seed in regionals. Also, you have half of your captain group playing when they should not be with injuries. I believe the win at MSU early in the year weights into RPI points so beating UNH who beat he best team in the country will help.
I am not against criticizing the athletes, per se, if you read my post history. It is about the manner it is done. I think discussing the worthiness of their scholarships is unnecessary and unfair and I took issue generally with the tack this board took vis-a-vis Conmy after his departure. Otherwise, remarking on their performance on the ice is fair game. And maybe the other commentary is too and I'm just too prudent, I'm just here to share my opinion with other folks passionate about the program.

I guess we all have PTSD from some of the recent transfers. The number one goal, at this point, should be a strong end of season finish and keeping this group intact for next year.
Its partly that but mostly the reality of the new landscape. Programs have to re-recruit the majority of the roster each offseason. Difficult reality every program faces.
