Yes this team has lots of potential. But they played far better on Saturday than on Friday. So consistent good play is required to go anywhere.

Not sure, maybe Black Friday game vs. Union a couple of years ago? But when you put 4400 people in that building, it's still a special place. The place was shaking. Actually had a wave going at one point. Felt like the old days.

Last night the crowd was rocking, especially in the third period during the comeback. I got curious about the crowd last night:
Total Recorded Attendance: 4456 RPI Fans (RPI season high - no data for Mayor's Cup)
By comparison:
Harvard vs Cornel @ Cornel: 4267 (Harvard's previous season high for recorded attendance this year - no data for Beanpot).
RPI vs Union @ RPI (Blackout): 2710
Freakout (2025): 4567
Freakout (2024): 4290
Freakout (2023): 4117
Blackout (2022): 4700 (Field House Sell Out)

As a side note, I do wonder how accurate these numbers are. As someone in the field house last night, it felt like there were more seats taken than in 2025's Freakout

that was probably paid. It didn’t count guests of Marty, guests of the team (recruits, alumni, etc) so there were probably some seats set aside for those people

Were any of our known recruits present or were these players whom we are trying to attract? I postulated earlier that Léo-Gabriel Gosselin would probably attend,

Don’t know. I didn’t see any obvious recruits there, but really anyone up to age 40 could be a recruit these days

So if I'm seeing them right, the first step (1A - 1B - 1C) is a major addition to the north side of the field house, with ground floor (event level) locker rooms, strength/training room, retail, etc., a new mezzanine level with offices and other behind-the-scenes functions, and a new top level with suites, a concourse that becomes the access point to the north seating, and a deck in the corner where sections 19-21 are.
That's basically a full-scale reconstruction of the north side of the building, impressive.
The phase 2 is the one that gets me. It reads as removal of Her Highness Shirley's suites and turning that whole west end structure into a "club", presumably a big event space/social space?
But I'm confused by the south side changes, which look like a mezzanine concourse rather than top level one, or maybe both with a smaller one at the top? Hard to tell.
Meanwhile feels like the east end student section is a long time away. And quite an interesting idea, taking students out of the north side and moving them to the end. Don't think you could fill both the north and south sides with local/non-student support.
It's all a dream until they get the money in, anyway!
Very early odds for next weekend on the road has us as slight 1/2 goal underdogs for both Brown and Yale games. Seems to be based on home ice alone. A sweep by us would go a long way to cement what many of us feel has been how much this season we have progressed - Go Red!!!
