Now, now. I haven’t watched more than a few minutes here or there. Thought it was safe to check in when the US was up 5-0 on Slovakia but less than two minutes after I turned it on Slovakia scored. Gonna start the game but will go food shopping if things look dicey.

One of my main reasons for rooting for the US. Being able to finally put the “Miracle” to bed would be the best thing for hockey in this country.

“Miracle” was showing on a loop yesterday on FX. It will never go away. But I do have to say, the 3rd period shown in the movie was pretty good, showing that the US team mostly kept the soviets away from the net for long shots.
You know how governors or mayors of cities of team playing in the Super Bowl or World Series have fun bets with each other? Usually with food? I’m surprised Trump didn’t announce a bet with the PM of Canada saying the US gets Canada as the 51st state if the US wins.
Also, other than the game being played on the same day, there is nothing similar between that game and this one. I love what happened in 1980 more than the next but stop enough showing it. There was no need to show the last minute of that game in the intro.
And for the love of God get those camera guys off the ice.
