In the 80s the women couldn't even play with a boys HS team (based on a true story). In the oughts they might have been able to hold a D3 men's squad close. Now... I swear they could hold their own in D1 mens.

It was before Vancouver where the US Women's team struggled against WarRoad, MN Boys Varsity...
So although it's improved, it is still night & day compared to the Men's game...

I'm not sure it's that big a difference if you take the derpity-derp out of the men's arsenal, but you're right we don't have a fair side by side. The men may be incomparably faster but IINM lower body strength is much closer between MF than upper body, so maybe the women can crank up the speed.

Shoot puck, hit at rebound. Repeat as necessary. Stop trying to pass for a perfect shot- they are clogging all of that up. Let alone, reading most of the passes.

They got ripped for being older and slower but the experience of their team is showing. They know how to execute a neutral zone trap style of game.

US got panicked after the goal. It’s far more likely they’ll adjust in the intermission and score in the third here.

Because in previous games they had opened up a can of whoop ass on them. Probably would have been better if they hadn't had such "an easy time" of it in the recent past.

Canada is playing exactly the game they need to play thus far, and the US has not adjusted or matched it.

Well, the US hasn't adjusted after two periods of play. They have one left. We'll see if they get to it. They had some flashes late in the second but they got to get someone taking the goaltenders eyes away and people crashing in on rebounds.
