Pandolfo is a worse coach than Greg Brown. That should alarm folks here on this thread.
I don’t think this is necessarily the case. 3 straight FF’s and a national final in first 3 years - good results for sure. It’s mostly players not performing- clear and simple. I think sometimes years like this happen. If it goes on for several years, then you can start to make this kind of comment.

This is spot on. We were the better team in all aspects of the game except shooting the puck.
Yeah the D wasn’t great but still better than BC’s I thought until near the end of the game when they started taking more risks
terrible look by pandolfo in the press conference blaming the refs for the turnover that led to the 2nd goal. Your team has been doing this all season in bad areas of the ice and the reaction is to blame the refs?
I too hate when coaches/players blame the refs for a loss. That's not what happened here. It was a throwaway comment that he thought there was an uncalled infraction that resulted in the 2 on 1. The highlight package conveniently left out the turnover, so I wasn't able to scrutinize it. From my seat in Section 113 in real time I didn't think it was a penalty. But that's not the point.
He took a lot of the blame for this season on himself during this press conference. "Listen, I'm clearly not doing enough to get these guys to understand or play a certain way consistently. So that's on me.... I haven't pushed the right buttons."
Also this: "Maybe you have to start taking ice time away from guys so they get the message.... Maybe I haven't done enough of that."
And finally, this comment really hit home for me: "The effort was good ... We don't sustain it enough." Bingo.
This has been my biggest frustration with this team. It's an allegory for our society (Short attention span. Jumping from one social media app to the next for short bursts of mental stimuli then, LOOK A SQUIRREL!) They play well in stretches. (Even if they still can't throw the effin puck in the ocean), but at least they're skating hard and putting shots on goal. But then they go to sleep and get into physical scrums to mask their frustration.
Only 9 (Maybe 10) more games. I'm hoping we get to enjoy a couple more goals, perhaps a W or two and then we can spend the off-season deconstructing what went wrong and how to fix it.

this team does what bad teams do when they don’t buy into what the coach is saying.
they play hard and the right way until something bad happens. When something bad happens, they do their own thing and revert back to old habits.

I didn’t think there was a penalty on the 2 on 1 either. The turnover was awful (again).
I will say there were probably 3 calls I disagreed with in the game (2 on BU, 1 on BC) so about par for the course this year (why has officiating gotten SO bad in every sport?). That last tripping with 4 minutes left even had the BC fans around me saying it was a bad call.
Glad to hear Pando even mentioning taking away ice time. I think he’s scared to punish kids because they can just hop in the portal so it changes the kind of kid you have to recruit.

A sign of an immature team. And it's not the age. These are just immature kids, who quite frankly, might benefit from a little Jack Parker treatment. But that's a discussion for another day.
Anyway...what's up with the parking at agganis lately? Got in a touch late for this and the Lowell game and drive up to find the garage is completely closed. The message wasn't that it was full, just closed. Last night I could clearly see a bunch of open spots on the outside lot portion. Am I crazy?
They issued a "parking advisory" (Sent to season ticket holders.) due to a two-day track meet at TTC. Not ideal for a BU-BC game. We got the absolute last spot in the garage.

The effort was there for the most part. And they looked very good for the first 10 minutes. But as someone else said, once they got down by a goal and then two, they reverted back to trying to do too much individually. 21 and 78 are the most susceptible to a simple poke check to lose the puck. I know 78 is still young, probably among the younger players in HE, but his development has certainly stalled. Terrible decision to go behind the net on the third goal. On the PP, after almost passing to a BC guy once, Boisvert managed to complete the task moments later for an easy clear by the Eagles. I'm really not sure how he led UND in scoring last year. And Gavin for the second time in the last few games took a penalty that killed any potential for a comeback (not that I was expecting us to score two more goals).
What this team lacks is a skill forward who can possess the puck. We were spoiled to have Macklin and before him Eichel. But there are no top 6 forwards on this team that I have confidence can maintain possession to help drive creative playmaking the way those two guys could. Perhaps 11 will become that. Teams know that our skill guys will not be able to manage the puck if they just pressure these guys. The bottom six cycling guys like 7, 10, 25 can keep possession but not in high danger areas.
This team won the two "high profile" games so far this year (MSG, last game at Matthews). Maybe they step up and beat NU on Monday - that would be nice. But at the end of the day, this team just isn't skilled enough to compete with the top-15 teams. We thought they were based on all the draft picks.

Solid analysis defkit. Per usual. However... It's not like Macklin or Eichel were the only two forwards who brought us to the Final Four in the last 10 years. Yes, a puck possessing forward is a key component this team is missing, it's so much deeper than that. Who's a scorer (now that Eiserman has the yips)? Who's a great passer with above average vision? How come we haven't seen any chemistry between two players that has resulted in some nice goals?
Add that to an average D corp and average goaltending and ... Well, you are what your record says you are. A .500 team. Over and out.
