BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Sooo, the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl. And playing Seattle. Like they did in 2015. Remember what else happened in 2015? Weekly 1-2' of snow that caused delays in the Beanpot. I know we're a week out but I did see a weather account talk about another major storm next weekend. Will it happen again? Who knows. I did check the schedule at the Garden and both Feb 3 and Feb 10 are available should we see the same pattern. But given we don't have a team like 2015, I'd be inclined to stay home.

I can't even talk about Saturday. It's so bad, I may not even make the effort to go this Friday,
It’s what drove me out of Boston. 4 straight weekends with over 20” each. I got stuck at Beachmont but managed to find a sucker to drive but had to buy their ticket! Glad it happened yesterday and not next Sunday as I’ll be at the garden Monday night. Hope you’re well Scarlett.

I think I still have PTSD from that winter.

Doing OK sterlippo1, our season notwithstanding. Hope you're doing well, too! I assume you bolted for warmer parts of the country? And I hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news, but it appears we're going to get an even worse storm this upcoming Sunday. Not sure if it will impact the game next Monday or not.

Because he was hardly even touched. Drama .
I didn't think the hit was all that bad either. But, why would the referees have called it a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for Contact to the Head?

And, if Yegorov was being dramatic (and I'm not saying he was or wasn't), wouldn't the trainers and/or coaches go check on him? Or, at the VERY least, his teammates?

You would think the at least the trainer would be out there.

I too am not going to start questioning the ability of the coaching staff. Last season was similar to the first Bruins season after Bergeron and Krejci retired. We thought the team would see a big drop given the talent that left (e.g. Lane, Macklin), but they went on to have a very good year, much better than expected. Now a year after that, the pain is being felt. Two years in a row of losing upperclassmen that made key contributions not just in terms of goals and assists. Two years ago we lost guys like Webber, Case McCarthy, Sam Stevens, I know I am missing others. Now you add onto that losing upperclassmen Quinn H., Tuch, Kaplan along with now NHLer Willander, and it's been too much of a leadership void in a two year period.

The only senior is in his first season at BU. Junior Harvey is a streaky scorer and not much else. On D, Gavin McCarthy is steady and generally reliable. But Celebrini is a bottom 6 guy on a good team. So leadership and experience is one big difference. Another is the production from the skill guys. Whether it's related to his WJC injury or not, Cole H. is not playing the way he did last season. Boumedienne flashes the skating and shot on occasion, but seems to be susceptible to bad decisions. Eiserman is hustling and battling but obviously he is not likely to equal his 25 goals from last season. Ritchie has struggled to adjust, his stock was probably inflated by playing with McKenna last season. I think he can still be a good player for BU, he just isn't there yet. Like Ritchie, Boisvert has been exposed as struggling to battle through physical play. Fondrk also is struggling to adjust.

The players I have the most confidence in are Roukunakis, Merrill, Morello and Bednarik. In general guys that aren't expected to score a lot. I also like what I see from Tynan Lawrence. Sure, he isn't lighting it up, but given how young he is, he looks like a very smart player who knows where to be and what plays to make. The skill will catch up as he adjusts.

Very well said.

Ditto on well said! But it is painful, nonetheless. I hope we’ll see more players stick around for next year. Some of those likely to jump could really use another year in the NCAA. What will be interesting is this year’s portal. We have a flock of new talent coming in. Will that make solid but not ‘elite’ players we’d like to see stay jump?
