St. Norbert General

Another jumbo comeback tonight. I believe that is the first shootout win in program history? I can't recall another one.

Per the SNC athletics website, it looks like Byron Hartley is no longer on the team. I'll never forget his buzzer beater against Adrian in the Harris Cup final last season.

I’ve always said that the best teams only concern themselves with Pool A berths into NCAA’s, but tonight SNC may have blown any opportunity at a Pool C.

Bummer about Hartley. From a distance I liked his game and thought he was a grinder.

Another blown lead at home. It's starting to feel like yet another "what could have been" type of season. But there is still time. They just need to figure out how to play a complete 60 minutes.

I've been on vacation and haven't checked the NPI in a while. It looks like SNC won their bye week, moving up to #7 in the NPI (at least for now).

This season has been such a let down. I feel like this team has the talent but they are missing something.
Well last night they ran into a hot goalie. They don't seem to get many "greasy goals" (i.e. rebounds in the crease, or deflections). This worked for a while because they have plenty of shooting talent on the roster. When that well dries up, however, offense gets difficult to generate.

I'm starting to think that maybe teams are starting to pick up on their offensive tactics and tendencies. I think this is supported by the total amount of blocked shots for Concordia last night... they had 23! This is x2.922 of their season average of 7.87 per game. Seemed like they were reading SNC's offense like a book. The bobbles and bouncing pucks don't help either.

It didn't feel so much like a hot goalie as it felt like they blew all 15 of their scoring chances. I definitely agree with your point about scouting. There seems to be a very effective strategy that several coaching staffs have picked up on.

Coghlin put it well on the pregame show - this team is either really great or really average.

I'm a bit surprised that they are changing things up in goal after Garvey played lights out last night. Maybe just trying to send a message to the team.

Christen's late goal gives SNC a much needed win last night.

It would be easy to look ahead to the Adrian weekend, but it's time to focus on MSOE first. The Raiders seem to always find a way to give the Knights a tough time.
