Providence College 2025-26 Official Season-Long Thread

Haven’t seen these metrics before evilhag, looks pretty refined compared to a + if you are on the ice when your team scores and a - if you are on the ice when the other team scores. Is there a quick definition of what each item represents? The visual presentation is good, it looks like PC out performed Brown considerably.

  • Offense (+): Blue bars for positive offensive actions (e.g., goals, assists, shots on goal).
  • Defense (+): Green bars for positive defensive play.
  • Production (+/-): Pink/red for production impacts.
  • Misc (+/-): Gray for miscellaneous factors.
  • Negative contributions appear in opposite colors or directions.
The total score reflects a player's net impact, factoring in stats like goals, assists, shots on goal (SOG), plus/minus (+/-), faceoff wins, and advanced metrics like possession and positioning.

I really wish we could see something like this for every game or overall at the end of the season - I really would not have clocked individual player impact by just watching the game.

Sikes regularly posts the leaderboard of top average game scores beginning of the week and responds to requests for individual games. If he doesn’t post one, just reply and ask. He’s very nice and usually gets back to you quick.

Also posts team stats like finishing

Oooh thanks cinnamoroll, this is super good to know!

another one of the guys who makes graphics of the sort but with different numbers and focuses is Gabe Foley. He's got these lineup combo visuals that show the strengths and weaknesses of each line and pairing- they arent perfect, but show some generic points of interest. here's the one for Providence. basically, top 6 is awesome, depth gets a little tough, blue line has some significant weaknesses.

We kind of knew the blue line would be a weak point based on all the experience lost from last year. Hopefully the second half of the year will see much better numbers.

4th line started out the year great but tailed off some of late.

Big 2 games this weekend to close out OOC schedule, need to sweep.

Well another Saturday night stinker. Friars drop 5-1 loss that dropped them 7 places in NPI. More importantly they may have lost their most important player heading into HE action. Philip did not look in good shape coming off the ice with no weight on his left leg. Will find out more on leaman radio show tomorrow.

A loss so painful I couldn't bring myself to watch to the end. Would have loved to a be a fly on the wall in today's practice.

And only one goal on the first power play
Listened to Nate on his radio show tonight. Philip to be evaluated tomorrow but don't expect to see him for this weekend. Coach was very open on his disappointment for the team play this past weekend including in himself not getting them prepared like they needed to be. Highly recommend listening to at least the first half with him and Mike.

Seems confirmed we're going to see Parsons get his first (and second?) start of the season this weekend. Really sucks. Phil has taken a lot of punishment over four years having opponents often running over him. Any reasons given why Machu and Kale missed Saturday's game? Having them out seemed very noticeable in the flow of play.

I think Machu left Friday night's game early due to some sort of shoulder/arm injury. Someone on twitter said he was in a sling on Saturday. This + Sveddy being out really doesn't bode well for the rest of the season.
