Providence College 2025-26 Official Season-Long Thread

When notable, unbiased hockey guys say that the refs made the wrong call, you know how bad the officiating is. Between the massive amount of excess calls last weekend, killing the pace of games besides those involving PC, it's time to stop protecting subpar officiating that impacts just about every game. They're getting as bad as pro leagues where umps and refs overshadow the actual games. Like the transfer portal, I'd love a system where officials can be swapped with other conferences. I'm not saying any one team deserves to experience the brutality of Hockey East officiated games, but it's a solution since they seem so highly protected.

loved the comeback tonigh, PC dominated play in 2 nd and 3rd I thought. Liked not worrying at the end of the game . The McQueen breakout has begun!

And it's not just him getting better each game, but elevating the play of his linemates too. Comparing him to Connelly of last year just isn't fair. One guy needed the puck on his stick often while the other is constantly aware of where his teammates are to pass off to them when the shot isn't there.

Right on the mark PK. I think we will see the continuous improvement coach Leaman has mentioned several times and hopefully some 6 point weekends to bolster confidence and league standings. There is good skill up and down the lineup. Would like the grit shown Saturday and better shot selection to provide a less stressful fan experience too. McQueen’s deke and quick wrister to score goal #2 was a really high skill level move and quickly following that up with another to set up Jelsma’s goal #3 sealed the win. Losing yesterday would have hurt a lot, so it was a gutsy determined performance and getting 4 of 6 points feels especially good.

A split weekend in Colorado, barely. Phillip big in both games especially game 2. CC outskated Friars for most of both those games.

3 more OOC to go before HE action restarts, need 3 wins in those games.

Not to jinx it but that's several games now without surrendering a SHG. The record may not reflect it but that's an improvement in game planning. Been a few mistakes leading to odd man rush but able to get back into the play, or rely on Phil to come up big with the saves. Right now, Phil's SV% is the best of his career while the GAA is coming down too. Currently second best year since his freshman numbers for that. I wonder whether we'll see Parsons in net again this season or not.

Maybe see Parsons on one of next 3 but don't see him in any HE action. Nate will ride with PS unless he gets injured. Too much at stake now to go with an unproven frosh it woul seem.

Was concerned that the elevation change in Colorado Springs would create a big obstacle and it evidently did. PC seldomly gets outshot and the shift changes seemed more frequent to compensate for the exhaustion factor. Reminded me of a business trip to that area many years ago when I jogged regularly and was in very good shape. Could not understand why jogging was so much more difficult and I couldn’t go nearly as far as normal. Acclimating to that takes longer than 48 hours.

Nice to see Malinoski come alive with 3 goals for the weekend, and he just missed another toward the end of the 3rd in game 2 by hitting the post, that would have been a hat trick and big insurance goal. Luckily the the team held on and won 2-1 with a rare one goal victory with under 3 goals. Great job by Svedeback especially in game 2. He usually needs 3 goals to win, but he stayed sharp the whole game. I bet he had no trouble sleeping on the late night flight back East.

Friday night losing Mustard probably didn't help with the "altitude" stamina, having to move lines around.

Last game before the Holiday break tonight at Brown. 2 years in a row at Meehan and Leaman doesn't mind it according to what he said in his last radio show. Quicker ice, opens the game for them. Brown won at Schneider two seasons ago if memory serves me so he may right about that. Friars have been off more than a week after the Colorado trip, so could be a slow start for them. Meanwhile Brown played twice this weekend. Not sure what to expect but a victory at this point is a must I would think.

I would guess Phillip remains in the net, keep the momentum of his play going, he's going to have to carry the team if they can't get the scoring going.

Mustard-Gamache-Sawyer line split up for the first time this season 🤔

Mustard moves up to play with McQueen and Elger, Gamache in between Sumpf and Fauchon. Sawyer with Malinoski and Adams.

Wow.... you called this perfectly. Is this Mike Logan's burner account?
