WCHA 2025-26

Let's hear it for the underdogs of WCHA, Tommies push the Badgers to OT, Minnesota State takes 6 points from Minnesota, Bemidji taking the second game from St Cloud!
Mankato sweeps the Gophers, Bemidji scores 6 goals in a game, and St. Thomas pushes the Badgers into overtime. What is the WCHA coming to?

They are the odds on favorites for the regular season title.
Ohio State is the best coached team in the league. They will however be super susceptible to injury as they are already short and there is no return of Malachino anytime soon.
Scoring is an issue if Dunne doesn’t do it…. Not alot of threats after her.
Lose Dunne, Svennson,Jungaker and possibly Peschel for the Olympics and that’s gonna a tough 6-8 games.

That is what the crowd chants after a penalty expires and the announcer says the visiting team is back at full strength.
If you're going to make this post, you have to get it right.

Full strength is not debatable. Can't have more than 6 on the ice.

Equal strength is debatable.

"Both teams are at equal strength" "THAT'S DEBATABLE!!!"

Different announcers will say different things; "full" vs "equal", or will mention the specific team instead of saying both/equal. "Bemidji is at full strength", "That's debatable". And some will respond to "Wisconsin is at full strength" with "Always were".

Right. And my point was,

"Bemidji is at full strength", "That's debatable" is nonsensical. Bemidji can't be any more "full strength" than having 6 players on the ice. So, no, there's no debating it.

The only version that works is "equal strength", because that can, in fact, be debated -- i.e, your players aren't equal to our players.

Just a pet peeve.

Bemidji with with 5 skaters and a goalie on the ice is STILL not all full strength.

I wonder who will pony up some $$$ and take Ms. Bischoff off Mankato's hands. I hope it does not happen, I like seeing them and the Tommies putting up more resistance.

Some very intriguing games coming up, and some not so much.

St. Cloud plays Colgate and Clarkson
TWSNBN Colgate and Clarkson
UW plays Mercyhurst and Stonehill
BSU at Lindenwood
Dartmouth at UM

During the Olympics, Wisconsin (and Minnesota, and Ohio) will have six on the ice. But they won't be at "full strength". And that isn't "debatable". LOL

As a matter of basic grammar:

"Both teams are at equal strength" is a comparison of the two teams' strengths. And one could debate if the two teams are, in fact, equally strong. Thus, "THAT'S DEBATABLE!!!" is a fun and clever taunt. (Or it once was, way back in the Coliseum days when it first began. But I digress...)

"Bemidji is at full strength" does not compare the two teams. So if you yell "THAT'S DEBATABLE!!!", then apparently you think Bemidji could be stronger than they actually are. Which, OK I guess, but that's a pretty lame taunt.

Most fans don't grasp that distinction, and thus they often think they're being fun and clever, when in reality they're being lame.
