UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

Heading into the series with UNH at Alfond has me feeling like Maine can’t truly lose. Either Maine sweeps UNH and gets points needed and it’s business as usual when these two teams play on each other’s ice…. OR UNH gets a win and it will be enough for an extension of a couple more years. If UNH sweeps look out, Souza would be firmly entrenched for 5 years at least! 🤣 The funniest part is there may be some truth to this absurdity. 🙂
Based on how things played out Spring before last, one cannot dismiss any possibilities as to how low the bar for MS7's next extension might be.

He's a coach at UNh..that pretty much tells you all you need to know? Not that UNh doesn't have standards for coaches but seems to me the win/lose record isn't paramount in their decision making? They dont have big donors who might hold back funds. Remember when he was extended last time he had helped secure funds (ok so I heard) for the rennovations plus he had a decent season...
Anyway! As you like to say...just win baby win!

How's your player that was injured last night? Scary! Hope he's OK we switched to that game after ours...
Evidently he was moving his limbs and coherent after heading to the hospital. Not sure we will ever hear any injury news with HIPPA rules. I don’t know how he could not have a fairly bad concussion from it at the least. Worried he might have injured his left shoulder, but this is speculation on my part. Not sure we will ever get a real story on it.

Hes not up for renewal until 2027...
Two years ago, I predicted 5 to 7 wins, with a chance of matching the worst UNH record of all time, which might have been what it would have taken for the new AD not to give MS7 a contract extension. But then transfer goalie Jakob Hellsten backstopped the Cats to 20 wins, hence a new three year contract for MS7.

So, stupidly I predicted 20 wins again last season, which did not happen because Hellsten flew the coop, and this season, which will not happen. But, I will predict right now that UNH will win 20 next season, which along with some NESN interviews should get MS7 another three-year contract extension to take him through 2030. No trips to the Garden or the NCAA’s, of course.

Please tell me this is satire. 20 next year? 21 games left this year that is 15-17 if they split. I see 12-20 as the final number.

No more Jack Edwards to chit-chat up to get MS7 in the door. Doubt Brickley alone would do the trick (or even want to extend himself to begin with) ...

What a difference a year makes. Most of last season, HEA was looking at getting six or seven teams into the NCAA’s. This season could be only one or two.

Buford, what is great nugget for you to share with us at 2:13 a.m. on a Monday morning. Nice life, loser.
The early bird catches the worm, douchebag. You don't get too far by being assistant to the AVP in charge of paper clips at the local library, like yourself.

Early bird? Yeah, right, more like mental illness. Sitting up in the middle of the night thinking of Mike Souza. Perhaps we should change your name from Buford to Mr. Creepy

As we know UNH has lost Jesse Allecia to Dartmouth. Well, just take a look at what is likely a major reason:

Dartmouth is adding 13000 feet addition to Thompson and is renovating the existing 11000 structure. It's going to be a players paradise.

BTW, Dartmouth is currently the number 1 team in the country according to the NPI.

"At ice level, additional square footage is being added to the men’s and women’s locker rooms, and team lounges will also be expanded. A renovated space for equipment will be created, along with an expanded sports medicine facilities footprint with hydrotherapy capabilities.

On the level above that, there will be a new weight room, which Harrity said will serve the hockey program and other teams that train nearby."

Good luck to Jesse!

Your numbers do not add up. We play 34 regular season games, along with a MBPBEGAM game.

That said, the Cats’ next game this Saturday (November 29th) at 5 pm in Waltham will be the sixth meeting with the Bentley Falcons. The Cats lead the series with 3 wins, 2 losses, and no ties, and four of the five games have been decided by one goal. Bentley leads in total goals scored, 15 to 14. For UNH to look past Bentley to Maine would be a big mistake. Bentley actually played in the NCAA Manchester regionals last March, whereas UNH only hosted (maybe for the last time ever?).
