TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

I still think season 1 of Westworld is as close to a perfect season of television we’ll ever get. I’m mad they nuked it entirely so I can’t re-watch.

Edit: Sorry. Forgot we’re discussing network TV.

WW S1 was damn near perfect you're right.

Anyway a 10 year-old Slap still remembers watching this with my brother and parents the first time it aired. My mother was not amused when I repeated Vicki Lawrence's line to my brother.

Have never seen it. In fact, I just saw the Firewalk movie Friday. I will watch the movie 1-2 more times before attempting the slightest commentary. After one pass it's way above me.

I love Lynch but have still not seen many of his works. I am working on it. Next up for me is Inland Empire.

Yeah I don’t think ever finished it. Time got away from me. My wife didn’t want to watch so I had to find time when she was busy.

For network television my ahem extended Mount Rushmore is:

Simpsons
House
Frasier
Good Place
Parks & Rec
Lost (1-4)

Haven’t seen community, office
Didn’t care for 30 rock, Seinfeld.

Community is great excerpt the last season. Mid Office varies wildly from outstanding to dreck, even within season. Late Office is shit. Early Office I have not seen.

After quitting about halfway through Ep 1 of The Studio a few months back I decided to give it another try, and after 2 episodes now I am thoroughly glad that I did. Makes one wonder how many times someone lost out on a promising relationship after having a, "It's not you it's me" moment and giving up too early.

The Studio is fantastic and the two part season finale was a tour de force!

You can tell Rogan is a real movie nerd there is some real "Inside Baseball" stuff in there.

Oh god. I was just doing network.

If I’m including everything my list would look as long as yours.

Also, you’re i disagree with House only being 1-3. Season four was excellent. And I think you’d agree the final two episodes were among the finest of the series.

I’ll also do you one step further.

The greatest *scenes* in history.

In my TV-watching lifetime, near the top is still Niles Crane trying to iron his pants. Just spectacular stuff, all without a single word spoken.

I hated the ending of House the way I hated the end of MASH or Killing Eve. It's a difference in taste. IMO those finishes are both cloying and, and I know how rich this is coming from me, risibly pompous. "Look at us! We were so great! And by extension, look at you! Who's a good viewer? You are; you are! Now buy more shit."

Is S4 of House the loony bin? That was where it slipped, IMO. It became a meta show playing back off itself rather than a fresh idea.

Edit: Oh shit, that is S6!

I change my House to S1-5! Thank you Handy!

It's just a difference in taste -- I found those finishes to be, and I know how rich this is coming from me, unpleasantly pompous. They were not the shows, they were booming praises of the viewers of the shows by stroking their egos. Ick.

No season 4 is when House auditions for a new team. The 2 part finale breaks me every time.

And House in the asylum has Andre Brauer...he makes everything great!
