Agreed, he was super. What strikes (,surprises) me is the generally excellent play of the D. 5 underclassmen. They sometimes get bottled up on the breakout but gotta believe the system will get smoother eventually. Great structure on the PK. They control space and block a ton of shots. A lot to look forward to with this crew. And Carr is really good.
Chauvette has allowed 8 goals total in the last 5 games. The story thus far has been a lack of goal scoring. Keep in mind Meathead, Buford and Elwood alleged Conmy was a problem on last years team. They claim he played lousy defense and was a problem in the locker room. Conmy likely would have given UNH 15-20 goals.

Regardless he's not walking in that locker room any time soon! Im waiting for Sam Oliver to turn it on. Heck while we are at it that goes for LeClerc...and the other veteran forwards.
No scoring from the more experienced players is a glaring reflection on I think the offensive system as a whole. The third was their best period I thought.
2024/2025 he was a minus 1 and so far this year with 2 points in 8 games is -2. He may have scored many goals this year but also would be on the ice giving some up.

Read a post on the unh facebook group about why MS7 isn't giving Jared a shot...well at this point..he had to go with KC. But I'd like to see da Whale get a shot at RPI...

Sorry, due to my limited hockey experience lol I have no idea who that is. Maybe someone else has a POV about said person! I assume (without looking it up) that Travis was a highly touted player who did not turn out as expected? If that's true, I can't/won't say that about Sam. I think he's gonna come through! How's that for optimism...

Pretty much. UNH was on a great run of top notch recruits out of British Colombia at the time, and Banga (pronounced bun-ga) was next in line IIRC along with Nathan Martz. Martz turned out OK - kind of a cut rate Lanny Gare - but Bunga never found his stride in Titletown. He struggled to find ice time as a frosh (not disqualifying, given the wagon UNH forwards were at the time), and transferred to New England College (yes, the one in Henniker) early in his soph season. The silver lining for UNH was some kid named Steve Saviano had unexpectedly emerged to take Banga's projected role, so it worked out OK for UNH.
Banga took a ton of flak from the Chestnut Hillbillies on here, who had their own "busts" to deal with (anyone remember Adam Pinneault? Thought not lol) back in the old days when the BC-UNH hockey rivalry was actually a thing, and the on-line BC-UNH battles here reached mythical status. Good times, miss 'em.
Banga would rediscover his scoring touch at the D-3 level, returning to the 2 point per game level he had displayed while in juniors at Chilliwack. He followed that with five pretty good seasons in the low minors, before things started to peter out for him as a player. But there is a happy ending to this story, as Travis (now 46 yrs. old - ouch!) returned to Henniker, where he has been an assistant Men's Hockey coach under Tom Carroll (who's been on that job for almost 25 years), and also their Men's Golf head coach, enjoying a ton of success. Carroll is approaching 65 years old, so it's probably a safe bet that Banga will succeed him as Men's Hockey Head Coach when Carroll retires. Finally, Banga is a member of the NEC Athletics Hall of Fame.

Banga was an older recruit that led the BCHL in scoring about 25 years ago when BCHL was a major recruiting source for college hockey. He came to unh, couldn’t cut it and transferred. Not a good enough skater.
