Election Day 2025

I saw something mentioned on a different forum about Latino groups that consistently vote Republican, like Florida Cubans, should have to go on “Study Near”. It’s like Study Abroad but to rural places where the ethnic restaurant is a Taco Bell. Give these Latinos who think they’re white a real view of what the rest of the GOP thinks of them.

It's still 1858 in southwest Virginia. It's so bad it might even be half as racist as Boston.

VA-9 is R+22. There are 2-3 other R districts that can be carved up to likely take Virginia from 7-4 to 9-2 D. 10-1 would be a tall order, as VA-6 is R+12 and contains most of the rest of their hillbillies.

I wasn't serious about 10-1, and I hardly want to chase after Jesusfuckistan. They deserve their reps, too.

I do think 8-3 is manageable though. And we need to preserve margin for the next DIVERSITY IS GREAT UNTIL IT'S GOING THROUGH YOUR TRASH pout from the Karens of Leesburg.

VA is actually quite MA in its way. There is an economic progressive strain to the white middle class, but locally-sourced whites, even the educated, have that prissy racism Martin warned us about. "They don't care how big we get, as long as we don't get too close."

"Stop bringing a knife to a gunfight.

PS: That's a butter knife, you idiots."

I still expect corporate Democrats to fold a winning hand. They're the Washington Generals of politics: paid to show up and lose.
Right on cue, Chuck Schumer is proposing to end the shutdown.

That's fine as long as they get a big piece. If they don't get something then they lose. If the Republicans give them something it will at least prove to everyone that a deal could have been made all along and that it's the Republicans fault we are where we are.

Yep. From a GOP supermajority to a Democratic supermajority in just 8 years.

Look what happens when Terry McAuliffe, Tim Kaine, and Mark Warner are replaced by party leaders who have some balls. And principles.

Also helps considerably that the state party has moved from old male politicians to younger women who have functioned in the world. I'm looking at you, other states with compromised, corpulent, moribund Dem state parties (NY is on the clock).
