Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

What is really sad is there's way more juice in the WCHA women's thread for that series then for the men's series. This will be the biggest test even though the rodent's record is bad. I'm really looking forward to learning more about this team this weekend. Are they really better?

There's a lot of rodent skulls to get cracked this weekend. Let's Go RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A pretty solid effort. Gophers are not that great right now, but this team continues to improve game to game. I think Hauser might like another shot at the first goal, but he's still the best we've had in the net in some time. Hensler with the only bone head play of the game where he fumbles the puck coming out behind the goal line, and instead of allowing the turnover he trips a Gopher for a penalty which they convert for their second goal. Fitzgerald gets the the hat trick on an open netter. Hopefully he keeps this rolling the rest of the year. Get the sweep Saturday!

I didn't realize that hockey season had started until last week....just goes to show how uninspiring last year was. Are we, uh, good this year? Or is our record a bit of a mirage?

The mistakes we made were preventable. Those need to be cleaned up, but gosh darn Bucky dominated that game. Wisconsin was overtly and noticeably more physical, controlled puck possession, time in zone and quality scoring chances. I know MN is lacking a lot of talent this year, but man it is nice to see Bucky slam the door shut on these types of teams for once.

Tine to finish it off on Sat.

Theh are far improved over last year. And the play of Tassy/Fitz this far is huge. Scoring depth in the league is essential and looks like they have it this year.

You've almost no need to watch football anymore. Just go all in on hockey.

I really think that was one of the best games I've seen over the past few years, considering the rivalry. I thought out top 6 really took control of this game, bottom 6 did their part as well, and the defense and goaltending did (mostly) all you could ask for. There's a lot to like right now, keep it up Saturday!

The teamwork and passing are so much better this year. Team is deep too. Lot to like about this group.

Gophers are not good. They played sloppy and it never felt like we were in danger of losing the game.

As I was watching I felt that way too, but I could not make myself believe it, do you know what I mean? I kept waiting for the wheels to fall off us and get rolling for them. It never happened. I'm still quite shocked at what I saw.

Definitely understand - it's happened so many times in the past. As I was driving home, Posick said that Minnesota had three (3!) shots in the 3rd period. Boxscore confirms that this morning too. The Badgers outworked them; they wanted it more and got it done!

3rd period was very territorially one sided. UW got out of the D zone with ease.

I listened to the first and most of the 2nd period on the radio, I think Posick is getting a little stat heavy during the play by play call. I don't care about last year's stats or what junior team they played for. Call the game.

Looked like the goal against we had two defenders (Palodichuk and Dubinsky) commit towards Clark, leaving the back door goal wide open.

Oh, for sure. I haven't followed football at all in recent years other than to laugh at the train wreck.

For hockey, I really disagree with the direction the gameday atmosphere has gone in recent years and don't enjoy attending in person as much as I used to. But good to see the boys turning it around. Maybe I'll stop in at the KC sometime this year after all.

Well All, it's November. We will without a doubt know what we have this year at the end of the month. Buckle up. This ia gonna be fun! Step 1....crush the Goofs tonight.
