TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

Tempest - South Korean/American spy/geopolitical thriller colab on hulu. Like with all shows/movies in this genre you have to at times suspend disbelief, but after the first 3 eps it felt about as real you can get.

Queen Mantis - another South Korean series on Netflix, this one about a female serial killer who while imprisoned is called upon by her cop son to help him solve another serial killer. This one is not as sharp, but it's still quite good after 2 eps.

The Breslau Murders - crime piece set in pre-war Poland. Suspended investigator tasked with 'solving' the murder of a Polish athlete right before the Munich Olympics. Solve the case and get your job back. Fail? Don't fail. I'm only on Ep 1 so far but I very much liked it.

Andrew Santino's latest special from the clips I've seen looks like a bunch of dad jokes. I'll still find time to watch it but I hope the entirety of it in context is better.

I started watching "Alien Earth" because a cool anarcho-syndicalist/science fiction commentator I like (Damien Walter) recommended it as the third great Alien movie and the cure for the IP slop of the rest. I am just 1.5 episodes in but enjoying it.
I've always had the intention to try Alien Earth after hearing good things about it. I'm not a big Alien fan. Definitely enjoyed the original movie which was extremely well done. Also watched Aliens, but that was it for me in the franchise. Never had any desire to continue on with it.

Well, since I finished Foundation yesterday, I tried Alien Earth for my lunchtime watch. I like it, so far. Very well done pilot. However, and this is me personally, I'm not a big horror fan, so I could have done without the bug scenes...

I will be cancelling my Disney+/Hulu subscription this weekend. Frankly I got it for Marvel and Star Wars. I think this will be my first time joining in on a cancelling of anything. And I never have had Paramount+ despite wanting to watch things that are there for years.

Looking forward to shows coming back online this fall. I still enjoy enough on the "free stations" to get me by. Going to need it this year as I am all but done watching the Vikings at this point (will mostly be background noise in my house while I do other things).

Catching up on The Secret of Skin Walker Ranch. Episode 11 of the most recent season, they visit a physicist at Utah Valley University.

I was saving the very last season of Bosch (Legacy) cause I didn't want it to be over but I am down to only two episodes left and should finish tonight.

I don't hear anyone talking about Task on HBO but wow what a show.

It is amazing how the older I get the less sports I watch, or even feel like watching. My parents are the opposite. I also have a lot more free eyeball time since cutting WWE completely from my life.

The Last Wright - 4-part docuseries described thusly-

Modern-day building codes and materials challenge mother and daughter team, Sarah and Debbie Dykstra, as they take on the challenge of constructing a house from the last set of drawings completed by Frank Lloyd Wright before his death in 1959.

The series reminds you of both is genius and many flaws, but it was still interesting to watch this 60 year-old design come to fruition.

SNL 51.01

I like the slimmer (slightly) cast. Bad Bunny was a good host. The musical guest was utter dreck. The surprise appearance by
Huntr/x
was excellent.

The writing was sad and bad. I wonder if the axe fell on more talented and experienced writers as Lorne starts to cut back on his bloated monster.

Agree with Kep - 51.1 was so bad I stopped watching halfway through the sketch following the sperm donor sketch. The whole show was cringe to that point. Also nothing against Bad Bunny but he was horrible, but hard to say how much of that was on him or the writing. Even the normally reliable Kenan wasn't very good.

They've had ban openers in the past so hopefully they will find their groove.
