RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

Splitting hairs here but I Called the box office yesterday to see when season tickets will be available for pickup only to find out you can’t pick them up until the pizza party which they have no idea when that will be?? The first girls game is 2 weeks away. You can pick them up possibly at the girls game I was told lol or they will mail them in the next few weeks. That’s literally what I was told?
So in short who the fuck knows when you will get them or how to get them lol
Imagine if we handled our payment that way: “I sent it but don’t know when you’ll get it, but you won’t get it until you get it. “

Penn State committed Gavin McKenna projected as the next big thing in the Crosby/McDavid category. Rumor is the NIL deal is $700,000

He probably can't spell RPI.

Seriously, the trickle-down effect gives us a larger percentage of 4.00-star players and may knock 3.50-star players like Carter Oakenfold to D-3. (McKenna has 4.75-stars from Neutral Zone.)

Honestly it’s pretty ridiculous. We’re about 36 days away from men’s game and girls are 2 weeks away and they have no idea when they’re going to get the tickets to us.

I hope they get "Kentuckied" or "Duked" (collecting a bunch of one and dones that come up short when team play is needed at tournament time). Even better, my need for schadenfreude would be fulfilled by them finishing 5th in the Big 10 again.

I think Cecilia, who did a great job running the season tickets and box office, got promoted last year or the year before--can't remember exactly, I skipped season tickets last year due to my own schedule. But she seemed overworked in the box office and I don't think they added more permanent staff. I think the remaining box office staff is student help, so it might pick up this week as school settles in and students get the work study jobs.
She was great. Couple seasons ago I stopped by HFH to pay for my tickets and Cecilia printed them off for me with my parking pass on the spot. It was all of 10 minutes to get them. Mind you that was in mid august when I went. You can’t even get a straight answer out of the box office now. They have no idea what the fuck they’re doing. Truly

For those football fans interested. RPI opens their season this Saturday at WPI and is listed as a 21.5 point favorite. The RPI roster was finally posted today and the offensive and defensive lines appear to be about the biggest we have had in my memory. The RPI athletic site however is still way behind as there are still no pictures posted for the individual football, men's hockey, or women's hockey squads. As an added note, there never was a team picture posted from all of last year for the women's hockey. I suppose the camera has been broken for some time now:rolleyes:

Edit: There also seems to be no information available about any media coverage for any of these 3 sports from WRPI-FM or RPI-TV
A little digging on the WRPI website revealed that not only all football games are scheduled to be aired but also ALL men's hockey games home and away are scheduled to be aired through the end of 2025. Nothing is currently listed for any 2026 men's hockey games on radio.

Why this is not already on the schedule pages, especially for football which kicks off in less than three days, I will leave for others to answer. It literally took less than five minutes to both find and scroll through the information.

Speaking of tickets, I just noticed that Union has individual game tickets on sale. I was going to buy a pair and drive up for our game when I realized it is on a Halloween Friday. We get a pretty good amount of kids if the weather is good so I think I should help my wife that night (while watching the game on my phone). If you are local and can get away you may want to pick up tickets soon.

In honor of Caroline Bjergstad, today is 4 September 2025. There are 31 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2025 for the start of next season.

With none of it listed on the RPI athletic site under the schedules for men's or women's hockey or football which starts in a couple days. This has not been the case in previous years.

I suspect you are spot on. Part time staff and the logistical challenge of printing thousands (?) of physical tickets.... I've never worried about it as this has been the way its been for a while now. Come the first home game, I'll be there and they WILL let me in. LOL

Why are they printing thousands of physical tickets? Most places have gone to e-tickets as the standard distribution method with physical tickets only being used for in-person purchases or on request. UConn made that switch with my football season tickets about 5 years ago. I know our ticketing system supports e-tickets - that's how I distributed our group block of Freakout tickets last year. Why is a school of advanced technologies using the finest in 1970s ticket distribution methods?

Glorioski!!! Broadcast information now listed on the schedule page for the first two away football games. Saturday's webcast will cost you $30. At that price it will be dust off and fire up the old woodcased with real speakers Thomas radio for me (It still sounds better than any of the modern garbage spread around the house). Next week's' away game webcast is still free just as all the home football games are expected to be.

Looks like something (possibly the posts on this thread) lit a fire under something. Who knows??? Maybe over the next 50 hours or so we may even get the game notes with the two deeps like we always used to get up to around two years ago.

I saw on twitter that the RPI hockey team was down at west point listening to Brian riley as a motivational speaker.Love it.

In honor of Nate Krawchuk, today is 5 September 2025. There are 30 days (1 month) until RPI's next game.
