TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

Finished sandman. Really liked it overall.

Watched first two episodes of the Amanda Knox series on Hulu. Nothing memorable, but man it would suck to be interrogated in a language that’s not native. I could probably hold up being interrogated in German but not the others.

So far, holding up the theory that she was really railroaded and had no motive

So I stumbled upon the latest season of Invasion (S1 was from 2021) thinking I would be watching S2 as most current, but actually S2 was released in 2023 (which I missed) and S3 is the new one.

Anyway I've enjoyed S2 so far, although the mother of two children that have been on the run together is a complete PITA character that really needs to dial it back a bit.

Regardless if S2 continues to the end as well as it's started I will give S3 a go.

Saw the pilot episode of Long Story Short by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, who created Bojack Horseman and wrote for Tuca & Burtie. I thought it was good, but I also grew up in a 50% Jewish community and it reminded me of about 50 families I knew and really rang some memory bells. Still, Dr. Mrs. loved it (after she had me explain about a third of it) and she had met exactly one Jew until she went to grad school.

It is doing what 100 shows have tried to do before, but I trust the creator. BJH is for my money the single best TV show of all time.

Im watching The Biggest Loser Doc on Netflix...everyone involved with that show should be drowned in a tub on live tv. (The people who watched it are no better)
Totally makes sense why Jillian Michaels is now a RW racist twat.

I watched a few seasons back in the day. Honestly, my brain focused on the competition aspect and completely ignored what had to be happening to make it possible. My enjoying it does make me cringe today, no doubt.

Watched Hostage on Netflix. Nice, tight, short little political thriller. Limited series on Netflix. I enjoyed it. Way better than what Butterfly was trying to offer on Prime.

I'm glad it was only 5 eps because it was nonsensical at times but worth the time commitment for 5.

Those producers…holy god complex, Batman

I truly wish we never invented reality tv
Seriously...they made me want to reach through the screen and strangle them. Bob too...he was a trainer he knows what they were doing was unhealthy.

There were ways to do that show that would not have been pure evil and they made every wrong choice in the name of ratings. Like having them do a challenge where they have to eat the most calories (while still getting weighed in) so they could go home and see their family. That isn't about making people get healthy that is about fatshaming people you find ugly so that a bunch of lazy ass losers can feel better about their choices. turning the woman they almost killed into a villain for a season was another just dandy decision...and of course offering no long term care for any of the people even though everyone knows when you lose weight fast you gain it back just as fast if not faster and it becomes harder to lose.

The most telling part was they couched all of this in "people don't understand how big of a problem obesity is" and hoped the show would get people to make better choices. Since the show first aired obesity has only gone up.

I remember reading a very interesting article during the midst of her ordeal -- I think it was during the second trial.

They were interviewing the American journalist who was providing the most coverage of this whole thing in the U.S., basically going to every court day, etc. He clearly was extremely knowledgeable on this case.

They asked him if he thought she was guilty or not. His response was, "I really don't know. But I can tell you this. I'd rather be tried in Cuba than Italy."
