Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

Year over year that is quite a lot and as that graph shows is a sign more is coming...and for the average consumer 3.3% can mean the difference between being ok and barely hanging on. I can attest this personally.

And I can tell you that small businesses are going to be hurt bigly over this. Amazon and Walmart can offset it with discounts and survive...the local stores won't be able to do that.

Yes on its own it is not the worst it could be (that will be around second quarter next year if nothing changes) but it is like giving COVID to someone who has respiratory issues...
The worst part is it is entirely self-inflicted. Biden's policies were good. We were poised for a really nice run. So Dump's damage isn't just against the baseline it's the opportunity cost of having pissed away whatever "peace dividend" that austerity had bought us.

It is yet again socializing pain and privatizing profit.

Man, if only that were true. I work with people who are already without housing, food stamps, healthcare, etc. The crisis is already here for millions of Americans. You think these people are blaming the Waltons? And even if they are, who do you think they’re voting for to solve it?
It simply isn't bad enough for enough people yet. But social dynamics are painfully homeostatic.

And yeah it's true the Poors will never blame the Waltons, they have been programmed to never question the Masters of the Universe, the deities of capitalism.

But the Poors have almost never directly confronted the rich in all of world history; indeed the Poors are the law enforcement brown shirts sent out to break Leftists' heads. Eventually, it is so bad, the Poors riot so hard they leave their neighborhoods, and start burning Liberals' property. Then, Bill Maher and the Liberals feel the pinch and think, "Hey, this is an emergency!" and finally get off their asses and change the rules just enough to let the steam out.

Or they don't and we get 1789. Not that that'll help. Revolutions are laudable in butchering the rich, but the people who endure the most pain are still the most vulnerable.

Sounds like Costco is going to stop selling mifepristone at all 500 of its pharmacies, citing lack of demand. No word on if they’ve pulled naloxone for the same reason.

"Lack of demand"?

Ah, well, that may be even worse than selling and then stopping. Either way, a shitty decision.
I mean not really. Why would Costco sell it? It’s not a high demand drug. It’s a business decision and Costco isn’t in the business of low turnover products.
