Yeah, any further donations from me dried up in January once it became clear Gretchen and Elissa have decided to sell out and collect checks. I will vote for the youngest and most progressive Senate candidate that I can in the 2026 primary, and it's looking like none of the ladies are going to fall on that sword. IDK if they're scared of being labeled and targeted for RWNJ violence because they're women, or they just have too much greed/ambition, and not enough concern for the constituents they serve. Either way, it's pathetic and demoralizing.
And the next generation is no better. Sen. McMorrow's book has advice on getting off your phone (digital detox) and picking a balance of traditional media outlets. It also includes a reprint of the standard AllSides "media bias chart".

We are way, way beyond the point where this is useful advice for our society, let alone the people who would bother to buy her book. I mean fuck, we blew past that point probably 10-15 years ago when social media trends became the preferred "news" source for a majority of the country.
She also tells this ancedote from her first campaign in 2018 where she supposedly convinced a MAGA couple whose door she knocked on to vote for her. All the usual, "we can melt the hate in their hearts if we can find an angle to just talk to them" bullshit.
I get that her book was not written for my demo, and will almost certainly have a majority 40+ year-old female audience since those are her people if she's going to win the nomination. I'm sure Liz Smith read all the drafts and inserted her own "helpful" advice. Most middle-aged women are too comfy and want to keep their friends too much to advocate for actions and ideas that may be considered uncouth.
