YepMost arenas are either hosts of professional teams and/or have other events to make money. The Hartford Civic Center is home to the Hartford Wolfpack hockey team. Agganis usually has the circus in after the Hockey East playoffs. I'm sure all these venues will be excited by the prospect of keeping those dates on the calendar open on the off chance their school gets a #1 seed. Or better still, has to be available with only a 4 day advance notice. I can just hear someone from the Garden calling up the Bruins and Celtics and telling them their games for Friday and Saturday are cancelled because Harvard got a #1 seed so they're hosting the NCAAs...
It's one thing to plan to host years in advance so you can coordinate with other tenants, concert promoters and the like. Another to make plans a week ahead of time.
Dont forget the big check ncaa gets from the well in advance planned host.
Not to imply there isnt a better way.
