I know, right?
Also, so weird to hear "Pro-Life" people not give two sh**s about spreading the virus causing others to die.
Argument I've seen is only 0.6% of cases result in death, and please think of the MILLIONS of murdered innocent babeeeeeeez.
Illinois R's win their court case saying that Govenor JB Pritzker is overstepping his bounds with his COVID orders...
Illinois is divided more than ever right now....
Why would they it isnt affecting them. As ND Hockey said months ago it is no coincidence that the #openitup stuff exploded after it was shown that minorities are more prone to have COVID complications than Whites. Add in the fact that people are convinced/gaslighted into believing there is only one repercussion that matters (death) and you have millions of morons trolling Twitter and facebook spreading the lies and misinformation.
It is 90 degrees and humid as hell out...I still wore a heavy duty cloth mask and had no issues whatsoever. Meanwhile every Karen that goes shopping has some breathing problem that they pretend excuses them. And then, if they get sick, they will beg everyone to pray for her and help her out.
And on top of all that Trump is making it harder for people to get the test anyways.
This country is so ****ed. Half the people pretend this is over and we havent even finished the first wave yet. The experts have nailed almost every prediction when it comes to spread and yet people ignore that and pretend it is no big deal.
Thank God that didn't work in Michigan. People are still being reasonably cautious. Just took a road trip across the state, and saw more masks than not, except for a small town where we got gas.
For Il, if R's want to gather in a closed space and all yell together, go for it. Just keep the spread to your families for 2 weeks. The more the Rs want to gather and chant and yell in closed spaces, the better. This is all fake, afterall.
based on what I saw in the town today, July 4th weekend is going to be one major Covid super spreader. People going around like nothing ever happened. Most wearing masks, but a sizeable enough number without. And from all states of the rainbow. Saw an Alabama plate today.
Yeah...the selfishness of the average American is off the charts.
Seems like stats or info without context is your game.

“What you’ve been hearing is a report that we are at 97% or so capacity...Exactly one year ago, it was at 95%. It is completely normal for us to have ICU capacities that run in the 80s - 90s. That’s how all of us operate hospitals...”

“We are seeing younger patients, we are seeing a shorter length of stay, we are seeing lower immortality, and we are seeing lower ICU utilization right now.”
Sorry Kep and Handy but, since I'm responding about something from 4 pages back, I figured I better quote him or he might not understand I'm referring to him.
Jeb, I'm starting to wonder about your level of reading comprehension. You link to a couple of Twitter posts and an article that you think support your insanely inane and inaccurate positions and yet, when I read them, they actually provide even more proof that that limiting exposure to any type of larger gathering -- especially indoors -- as well as wearing face coverings, is strongly recommended. Here's the last paragraph from the first doctor quoted:
“The time is now, as Houstonians, to band together and act like the can-do Houstonians that we are, and do all of the right things, and that means every single person in the community needs to be wearing a mask when they’re outside of the home, they need to avoid leaving the home or avoid going to social places or places where they congregate together whenever possible, they need to keep socially distanced, they need to do obsessive levels of hand hygiene."
Weird Jeb, another doctor/medical professional saying to stay home if at all possible. If you do go out, avoid large gatherings and, everyone needs to be wearing a mask.
Along with info from one of the comments to the Twitter post you linked to from Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, where he is trying to prove that it's apparently no big deal that hospitalizations are rising dramatically in Texas and specifically in Houston -- funny, something you were saying just a week ago wasn't happening. This seems to indicate things are a little more serious than Rep. Crenshaw and you apparently believe.
"This tweet from 3-hour ago hasn't aged well. 57 deaths so far today in TX; 7 days ago daily total was 33; 7 days before that the total was 27. Houston paramedics are waiting 1-hour to transfer pts from stretcher into hospital. What kind of math & statistics courses did you take?"
It's amazing how you've now pivoted to the diagnostic test being used supposedly not being meant to be used for that purpose. Even the Trump administration supports the use of that test and they would obviously prefer to have less testing. That being the case, if the argument you're making had any merit, don't you think Trump and other Republican lawmakers would be screaming that from the hilltops? Jesus, you accuse so many others of lacking in logic or common sense and yet, you show less of it than anyone on this board.
Oh, and did you notice the article linked a while back that suggests we're under-counting Covid deaths by 28%?!? Finally, for someone who says that they're not voting for Trump, you sure spend a lot of time defending the stupid **** he and other Republican leaders say....
No. The average human (there is nothing special, good or bad, about Americans) is generous, provided they understand the circumstances.
The rule is 271. 20% of people are wonderful, approaching sainthood. 70% are good, particularly in a crisis. 10% are garbage.
What we've been seeing during this is the 10% have dominated the news, and a portion of the 70% have been hoodwinked by them. There are bad people but most bad is done by good people in ignorance.
