based on what I saw in the town today, July 4th weekend is going to be one major Covid super spreader. People going around like nothing ever happened. Most wearing masks, but a sizeable enough number without. And from all states of the rainbow. Saw an Alabama plate today.

Thank God that didn't work in Michigan. People are still being reasonably cautious. Just took a road trip across the state, and saw more masks than not, except for a small town where we got gas.

For Il, if R's want to gather in a closed space and all yell together, go for it. Just keep the spread to your families for 2 weeks. The more the Rs want to gather and chant and yell in closed spaces, the better. This is all fake, afterall.

Why would they it isnt affecting them. As ND Hockey said months ago it is no coincidence that the #openitup stuff exploded after it was shown that minorities are more prone to have COVID complications than Whites. Add in the fact that people are convinced/gaslighted into believing there is only one repercussion that matters (death) and you have millions of morons trolling Twitter and facebook spreading the lies and misinformation.

It is 90 degrees and humid as hell out...I still wore a heavy duty cloth mask and had no issues whatsoever. Meanwhile every Karen that goes shopping has some breathing problem that they pretend excuses them. And then, if they get sick, they will beg everyone to pray for her and help her out.

And on top of all that Trump is making it harder for people to get the test anyways.

This country is so ****ed. Half the people pretend this is over and we havent even finished the first wave yet. The experts have nailed almost every prediction when it comes to spread and yet people ignore that and pretend it is no big deal.

Man you are miserable. It would be one thing if you were some 65 year old. But based on your nonsense I have you pegged at about 41-42.

You should do better than a cloth mask by the way.

Just rolled into St. Joe. Are you over that way? And if so do you want to grab a cold one, on me?

We can mask it up.

Up in a rural county in Maine right now in a private house. Quarantining because that's what the rules are and that is what the right thing is to do. swam down the lake about a 1/4 of a mile- chatting, from about 20 ft away, with the neighbors. Fascinating.

We come from Middlesex Cty in Mass. We have more deaths and cases than most states until a few weeks ago. There are people here from NH, ME and MA. Most of them were at first all bravado and how it wasn't that bad until I said we knew people who died, who were very sick and we had 1700+ deaths in our county alone. Suddenly people are a lot happier that we are being careful.

We have been strict- we have gone no where. We won't go anywhere. The people from MA a few places down go when they need to buy groceries because [no real excuse except they are going to do what they want].

The folks from NH have been here long enough they can go about. They were planning a reunion with the kids and their fam coming from MA and NH to stay. SOme of the fam is from 2 towns over from me. When she told me that yesterday I goggled at her. I think she finally connected what we were saying about around us with her kids (who had decided to tell her they were coming and staying the night). She cancelled.

The People who are here all the time have almost no exposure to anyone who has been sick or died. They have no community spread to speak of. Talking to them is like talking to someone from another planet. Except for the gal who retired from working as an NP at the Community Clinic- she is freaking about all the people who visiting vectors because a lot of people don't feel masks are necessary.

Meanwhile almost all of them immediately bring up how the numbers of deaths are being falsified because the Feds paid more for a C19 dx. I didn't realize this was still a working narrative? I thought we weren't supposed to care about any numbers but deaths.

Pretend they are rioting and protesting, everything will of course be fine then. And have yourself a great little weekend.

Being ugly, fat, poor, stupid, and micro-dicked, there are plenty of reasons for me to be depressed. But then I think I could so stupid or so desperately in need of attention that I would be on this board arguing against face masks.

Puts it all in perspective.

Yeah...the selfishness of the average American is off the charts.

No. The average human (there is nothing special, good or bad, about Americans) is generous, provided they understand the circumstances.

The rule is 271. 20% of people are wonderful, approaching sainthood. 70% are good, particularly in a crisis. 10% are garbage.

What we've been seeing during this is the 10% have dominated the news, and a portion of the 70% have been hoodwinked by them. There are bad people but most bad is done by good people in ignorance.

Seems like stats or info without context is your game.

“What you’ve been hearing is a report that we are at 97% or so capacity...Exactly one year ago, it was at 95%. It is completely normal for us to have ICU capacities that run in the 80s - 90s. That’s how all of us operate hospitals...”

“We are seeing younger patients, we are seeing a shorter length of stay, we are seeing lower immortality, and we are seeing lower ICU utilization right now.”

Sorry Kep and Handy but, since I'm responding about something from 4 pages back, I figured I better quote him or he might not understand I'm referring to him. ;)

Jeb, I'm starting to wonder about your level of reading comprehension. You link to a couple of Twitter posts and an article that you think support your insanely inane and inaccurate positions and yet, when I read them, they actually provide even more proof that that limiting exposure to any type of larger gathering -- especially indoors -- as well as wearing face coverings, is strongly recommended. Here's the last paragraph from the first doctor quoted:

“The time is now, as Houstonians, to band together and act like the can-do Houstonians that we are, and do all of the right things, and that means every single person in the community needs to be wearing a mask when they’re outside of the home, they need to avoid leaving the home or avoid going to social places or places where they congregate together whenever possible, they need to keep socially distanced, they need to do obsessive levels of hand hygiene."

Weird Jeb, another doctor/medical professional saying to stay home if at all possible. If you do go out, avoid large gatherings and, everyone needs to be wearing a mask.

Along with info from one of the comments to the Twitter post you linked to from Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, where he is trying to prove that it's apparently no big deal that hospitalizations are rising dramatically in Texas and specifically in Houston -- funny, something you were saying just a week ago wasn't happening. This seems to indicate things are a little more serious than Rep. Crenshaw and you apparently believe.

"This tweet from 3-hour ago hasn't aged well. 57 deaths so far today in TX; 7 days ago daily total was 33; 7 days before that the total was 27. Houston paramedics are waiting 1-hour to transfer pts from stretcher into hospital. What kind of math & statistics courses did you take?"

It's amazing how you've now pivoted to the diagnostic test being used supposedly not being meant to be used for that purpose. Even the Trump administration supports the use of that test and they would obviously prefer to have less testing. That being the case, if the argument you're making had any merit, don't you think Trump and other Republican lawmakers would be screaming that from the hilltops? Jesus, you accuse so many others of lacking in logic or common sense and yet, you show less of it than anyone on this board.

Oh, and did you notice the article linked a while back that suggests we're under-counting Covid deaths by 28%?!? Finally, for someone who says that they're not voting for Trump, you sure spend a lot of time defending the stupid **** he and other Republican leaders say....

So the info I shared about hospital capacity and age of patients is incorrect? Please share the correct info then.

as far as the testing I shared info right from the CDC. Again please correct the CDC with the info you have.

Also, I shared right from the Texas health site the definition of what is a Covid case which doesn’t even have to include a test! One symptom will do! Again please correct with what is inaccurate there and share how TX really counts cases.

I would say it's more like 30% who are stupid, selfish, awful excuses for humanity.
