Something's going on. First, it's 9 PM EST and the numbers are still not final. Second, just look at these numbers:

Code:
CA 6503
TX 5370
AZ 3593
FL 3286

CA has picked up almost 6k more cases than NY today. To give you an idea of the magnitude of that, 5 weeks of that and CA would exceed NY despite NY exceeding CA every day for virtually 4 months previously, including the peak when NY was hitting 10k a day and CA had zero.

“GOP Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is imploring residents to stay home as the state grapples with a surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations stemming from the disease.
"Because the spread is so rampant right now, there’s never a reason for you to have to leave your home."

He has said, however, he won't order closures anytime soon: "Closing down Texas again will always be the last option."

As if on cue.

Feds About To Bail On Supporting COVID Testing Sites In Texas And Other States

I think conservatives are upset about people getting reinfected increasing the numbers and want to ensure you can only get it once.

In Dallas County, Texas, the federal government will end support on June 30 for two testing sites it has been been supporting since March, Rocky Vaz, the director of emergency management for the city of Dallas, confirmed to TPM.

“Cases are continuing to rise in Dallas County, and we want to continue with the testing,” Vaz said.

The city of Dallas asked the federal government for an extension beyond June 30, but was refused, Vaz said.

“They told us very clearly that they are not going to extend it,” Vaz said. “We are not expecting it to continue beyond June 30, but things change.”

As the pandemic began to batter the United States in March, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency began to deploy Community-Based Testing Sites around the country.

The sites provide testing kits and contract with laboratories and a call center to notify patients of their results. The federal government covers the costs of the contracts, while providing staff.

The Trump administration previously attempted to end support for the testing sites running under the same program in early April. The government reversed the move after a public outcry, extending the sites. The extension is now coming to an end.

Shutting down the state and making people stay home is so much easier than wearing a mask.

Rebekah Jones, the data analyst fired in FL who started her own site, has formally accused FL of falsifying data.

Florida announced yesterday they're not counting the icu bed availability anymore, a key element in keeping things open, so the state can proceed to the next phase by July 4.

I have multiple sources at DOH who have just told me they have been instructed this week to change the numbers and begin slowly deleting deaths and cases so it looks like Florida is improving next week in the leadup to July 4, like they've "made it over the hump."

I've independently verified they've deleted at least 1200 cases in the last week. They're only reporting all these cases now so they can restrict reporting next week to make everyone think it's over. I've had two DOH employees in different offices confirm

I really hope these Nazi f-cks get lengthy prison terms. I wish I could say even the dumbest conservative will finally see the GOP for what it is, but of course they never will.

Link? I looked but couldn't find anything.

Her dashboard has about 100 more dead from the virus. Then again, her last positive day was less than the official Florida reporting, too. What the florida page does not have is hospital space. Whereas MS Jones' page shows ~1400 ICU beds left in the entire state.

BTW, the low deaths a couple of weeks ago has gone up again- remember it was in the low single digits- then move to the mid 20- now in the 30's. So the live deaths per day can be kept low, and hidden corrections can happen that nobody notices.

Can't visit Florida until they tell the truth.

Meh Huff is a d-bag who apparently is so stupid he doesnt even know what is or is not unconstitutional. Considering his biggest defenders are frauds/criminals like Curt Schilling and Lenny Dykstra I say shame him. he is still butthurt the Giants didnt invite him to the reunion party because he is a public d-bag and hardcore Trumper.

Yeah he's been a joke here for awhile.

His little meltdown on Twitter a few weeks back was funny though...especially when Dykstra showed up and started defending him. The sheer amount of people mocking Lenny for his crimes was worth the time to read it.

I hate to defend FL but I don't think there is anything sinister in the reporting of death data. Pretty sure the CDC guidance on reporting is that the deaths get reported for the day they occurred, which can take a couple weeks for all the paperwork to be done. So those numbers SHOULD be changing every day for a couple of weeks. The aggregator sites get their total from the sum of all changes reported on any given day. So yesterday worldometers reported 64 deaths for FL, but those are 64 deaths that occurred over the past couple weeks and have now been recorded.

Well I think FL would be more defendable if we didnt know they were also calling lots of COVID deaths "pneumonia" or at least were fixing it after the fact. They are definitely covering up the deaths and now are going to screw with the ICU numbers so they dont screw up their Fourth of July.

Yeah I don't doubt any of that for a second, just putting it out there that changing the daily totals retroactively is how this is supposed to work.

Oh yeah...we just have made a (sad) game out of watching the numbers daily so it is more noticeable than it should be.
