Wait, is this a bit article?

"UPS is the biggest carrier of standard deliveries to the wealthy enclave, Bloise said. “I can’t imagine how we’ll be able to function just relying on DHL, FedEx, and the Postal Service.”"

Now imagine this happening a hundred times a day and you have Kyiv.

Or Baghdad.

Walmart distribution center in Indiana is on fire.

Smoke is thick enough it’s getting picked up by satellite.

Looks like there are 2 Walmart buildings right next to each other. One is distribution (also for Sam's Club) and another appears to be an online fulfilment center. Saw somewhere that there may have been as many as 1000 people in there but that no one was injured or anything.

I’m sincerely curious about this. Once upon a time, the USPS was hired to make a lot of “last mile” deliveries for other couriers that deemed the last leg of the delivery too expensive for their operations. They’d contract out with the mail service that is currently obligated to make regular runs to those boondocks places - even if the boondocks are very wealthy.

I'm confident that's still true. Even in the burbs I get a lot of small packages through the USPS that were shipped via UPS.

Mother of god. My home taxable value is increasing 130k for next year. Second time in four years with a 100k jump.

edina assessor was in my house just over a year ago, told me that with thr last big raise they shouldn’t go up much more. He lowered them for this year - and now this whammy. Sounds like a lot of people are getting 20% bumps- but I may appeal. They are just using market to drive up revenue sure but I haven’t even really done any improvements
