2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

So yesterday Trump said he would bring back Confederate names...today they played Dixie at the rally in Butler. Probably a coincidence...

Jesus, lazy ****ing advertising people. Texas political ads because I'm watching ESPN. In Michigan.

During the game from Philly today I got to see the ads the GOP is running in PA. They are disgusting. They are Nazis and trans are the new Jews.

I am sure God is real happy pr!cks like joe and the GOP speak on their behalf...

Even the GOP post 9/11 wasn't as cruel as this cruel.

PBS had a discussion where a bunch of voters from across the spectrum talked in Wisconsin. It was interesting (and scary...nothing like an old cop saying the Libs are fear mongering over Project 2025) but it might have been the most glaring example of White Privilege I have seen in a while. This lady with a big cross who is a Trump voter was talking about how scared she was to have a Trump sign and how she felt she was in danger...sitting in a room with Black Men, women with mixed race kids, gay people, Muslims..etc. Now if she is being honest I feel for her...but she can phuck all the way off on being in danger. The Black Man 2 seats away felt danger, the mixed race family that was there that lives in a conservative town are in danger, the Muslim woman who teaches immigrants...danger. Your Lilly White Ass will be fine tomorrow no matter who wins the election so how about you just take a step back because you cant seem to see the forest from the trees lady.

Hey now, if that woman was on CNN, she’d be on an undecided voter panel.

.

The best commentary I've ever seen regarding these issues, and it came from Dawson's Creek, no less. A scene that if you know the characters, sets up expectations, and then completely flips them on their head.

Not that someone like Joe would watch this, let alone take its message to heart.

I actually quote that scene a lot when the topic comes up.

I know everyone is worried about the Senate...but how much is the Independent candidate possibly winning figuring in to your equations? Honest question.

I tend to assume Indies lose 5 polling points on election day from cold feet, mainly from Evan McMullin losing 5-10 points in Utah to Trump in 2016. If he is up by 5 like current, I lean toward a toss-up.

Trump said the "Dictator for a day" thing again. I'm sure CNN and The Times will say the Dems should not talk about it though.

I think it helps that the Republican promised to not run again but then did. People hate flip floppers ;)

Not as much as it used to given that Ron Johnson and Marco Rubio survived, though the latter could be blamed on the ineptitude of the Florida Democratic Party.
