Trembling, Bleeding Spokeswoman Issues Statement Denying That Doug Emhoff Would Ever Hit Anyone | Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As reports circulated about an incident in which Kamala Harris's husband was accused of assaulting a woman, a trembling, bleeding spokeswoman issued a statement denying that Doug Emhoff would ever hit anyone.

Emhoff has been embroiled in controversy after witnesses came forward to allege that he had once slapped an ex-girlfriend, but a campaign spokeswoman with a bruised eye and bloodied lip held a press conference to vehemently state that the Second Gentleman would never do such a thing.

"These accusations are absolutely ridiculous," the spokeswoman said as blood trickled from a scrape under her left eye. "Mr. Emhoff would never, ever do such a despicable thing as to strike anyone — much less a woman. The woman who was allegedly slapped by Mr. Emhoff simply fell down some stairs… just like I did right before coming out here to speak with you all today."

Witnesses in attendance said they heard a commotion and loud shouting just prior to the start of the press conference, with Mr. Emhoff seen leaving the room holding an ice pack on his knuckles as the spokeswoman walked to the podium. "He looked like he had really taught someone a lesson," one reporter said. "Not the spokeswoman, obviously, since he would never hit anyone. But maybe he accidentally punched something repeatedly. It surely wasn't his fault. Do you see what it made him do?"

At publishing time, the spokeswoman begged the media not to bring this incident up with Mr. Emhoff again because it was really all her fault anyway.

They’re entirely capable. It’s almost like I wrote “they’re entirely capable of ratf*cking their own case” in that post. Oh wait, I did. They’re entirely capable. You must be looking for someone else.

Sure they could...literally no one is saying otherwise. But unless they explicitly say "This is only in the case of Donald Trump" they open up a can of worms they don't want to open. If you think the idea of Harris having ultimate power doesn't scare them to high heaven I have a cybertruck to sell ya! Will even throw in some Trump stock at a very discounted price from its evaluation ;)

Handy, nothing scares them. They don't fear a Harris admin or any actions her admin will take, they'll drive this fucker right off the cliff if they have to.

They just gave a president total immunity and said bribes are legal. You think they care about opining a can of worms? They just said Trump could drone strike someone in the US and he couldn't be prosecuted. Jamelle Bouie said this is the worst ruling since Plessy. I think it might be their worst ever. It stands in complete opposition to what this country was founded on and what the framers wrote, said, and intended.

I’d say Dred Scott is up there too. Anyways, it was a horrible ruling. But their original ruling kept the door open…Jack Smith walked through it. He used their own ruling numerous times in his filing to explain how Trump isn’t immune, so they’ll have to double down against their own ruling to shut out Jack Smith once again, rather than just making that ruling airtight the first time. So, we know they’re shameless enough to do such a thing (look like hypocrites), but look like hypocrites to beat back this case against Trump, they will.
Unless, of course, Trump wins in November.

Yes, they have a bunch of lame partisan polls on both sides. The Nazis appear to be flooding the zone with them to move the numbers, but the aggregators are not obliged to play along. Nate (PBUH) used to drop those polls. I dunno why the new ownership doesn't. To avoid a fight I guess.

I think you are wrong. I think the last thing they want is a liberal who understands the law wielding unlimited power. (said person being a woman of color makes Alito pee his pants) I think they believe they are enough of a check when in reality they have created a system (one that already had loopholes you could drive through) that is super easy to ignore and manipulate to our ends if you know where the weak points are. They can pretend they can't be held to an account all day, and the Old White Guy Brigade on the Left might let them out of a misplaced sense of patriotism and allegiance to the founding principles...but if Harris wins its a different ballgame. In theory there are things she would do Biden was just never going to do and that was before he was handed super saiyan powers. And speaking as someone who literally just taught 150 kids about the power of the Judiciary...this stuff is fresh in my mind.

The one thing this court has shown is it is spineless and cowardly and that they have zero loyalty to even their own rulings. If Harris wins they will find an excuse to not give Trump immunity on this specific case. They will cite a bunch legit reasons (that contradict things they said months ago) to try and make it sound official and not what it really is...they don't want to give Harris Ultimate Power for 4 years and into a re-election campaign. Not necessarily because they worry about themselves...but more because they don't want Liberals to be able to circumvent constructs that overinflate the power the conservatives yield even as a minority party.

I gotta say though...it would be fun to watch the Right Wing reaction if they did. The precedent being set that re-election efforts are immune along with the other factors covered by immunity (both things I completely disagree with just to put a finer point on it) in the hands of someone who wants to use it could get everything we want and there aint a damned thing they could do to stop it. Even if the SC decided to say "you can't do that" there is nothing that says the President has to act as such, and now that is not even a criminal act since it would be immune from prosecution. Hell it would be almost impossible to even impeach in a normal climate let alone one where the Dems likely control the House and neither side will have 60 in the Senate. Of course all of that would like if Galadriel had taken the Ring of Power, even in doing good she would have been corrupted and serving the will of the Dark Lord. (the path to hell so to speak...)

Don't misunderstand me none of this is because I think they worry anyone will touch them...as long as the Dick Durbins of the world are still out there that won't happen. And if a non-lawyer Dem was top of the ticket I would probably say you are right. But I dont think any of them want the former Attorney General of California who also was a Senator so she knows holes in the Legislative Process as well to be able to do whatever she wants whenever. I think they will sell out Trump for that in a heartbeat because there are dozens of JD Vances out there that their cronies at the Heritage Foundation are popping out ready to do things much cleaner and aren't as reviled.

edit: Forgot to add, I could of course be 100% wrong...but the only thing I count on more than the terrible things these people do is their willingness to sell each other out when push comes to shove.

That appears to be the case. I wonder if that is just a function of being part of ABC.

They do a better job than Nate's new site...but honestly I am not sure anyone who pays attention thinks that is anything but gambling.

Not watching live TV is such a breathe of fresh air. I do love Sling for that...of course DirectTV is buying Sling so more problems will arise. (yes I know you can watch TV live on Sling the SO does...but I won't do it!)
 
Now on an interesting positive note...while my particular part of town is uber liberal they tend to not put up a bunch of signs for elections unless it's for say Omar or Klobuchar or something local. Every few days new Harris Walz signs are popping up. It's highly noticeable. The few Trump voters in the area are obviously outnumbered but of the 3 that usually have something only 1 still has it up. The other 2 pulled it down after the debate. My SO has gone to St. Anthony the last 2 weekends and while last week it was mostly Trump on her route today she said it was surrounded by Harris stuff.

Means nothing but it makes me smile :)
 
Oh, they'll find some reason in a future case to strip any unlimited immunity from a Democrat president.

But it'll be back once a Repub gets elected again.
 
The local MAGAts have taken to parking cars with Trump signs all over them, and getting a few people to stand around them with 'Honk for Trump' signs on the street right in front of the local offices for the Democrats.

Typical MAGA. They can't can't let things go without inserting themselves into stuff that's none of their damn business. Always gotta make a scene, stir up shit, can't let anyone go about their business without them having to stick their noses in.
