Half of the white Southerners in the military feel the same way.

I've been talking about this on this forum for a decade. At least. The ones who these reports talk about are just the tip of the iceberg. If worse came to worse I do not trust a far higher percentage of the military than the general public. Which probably means well more than half of them may believe in disregarding civilian control if they don't like what those civilian controllers are saying. I believe we are going to find out just how bad it has gotten following the 2024 elections. The left better be prepared for political violence the likes of which we haven't seen since the 1860s.

What I find remarkable is for all the crap Biden gets for being old and being a bit of a mushmouth (which he's been his whole life), Trump is absolutely out of his mind. Watch any video of him at rallies over the past year. He's absolutely not all there. Even accepting a lower threshold - the dude has always been a rambler - he constantly gets names and dates wrong, or screws up planned lines like this one you quote, or whatever. Biden is only 3 years older than Trump, so it's always perplexed me that the MAGA chuds that go after Biden's age seem to just ignore their guy's nonstop verbal screwups.

What I find hilarious too is all his crowing about "acing" those cognitive tests. I helped build the very same things he's babbling about into my EHR. There is no "doing well". You pass or you do not pass, and the level of deficiency is what's the issue. Expectation is to pass. A healthy adult who's paying even a little attention to the questions will pass.

Semafor reports that Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy argued in a meet-and-greet with voters in August that "we need to return healthcare to pure privatization," despite the fact that the United States government has been providing financial assistance to help Americans get medical care for decades.

When asked about what this would entail, Sheehy pointed to the kinds of payment systems that were more common in the 19th century.

"I mean, healthcare worked before health insurance existed. Each town had a doctor that would drive to your house, take care of you and you’d pay him,” Sheehy said.

"Why can't we have the medical field go back to a time when people died 20 years younger?!"

It's like saying, traffic jams are annoyance of modern society, so let's go back to when there were just horses and buggies, so it takes 20 times as longer to get somewhere but at least no traffic jams, that makes everything better.
