Miami will be fine- doesn’t silicone float?
Just a reminder with US Temps, we were in a La Nina while records were being broken, El Nino weather is on deck.

Paul Douglas was just saying yesterday- Warner fall and winter but perhaps cooler springs (like this bs right now)
Ok, this has to be an error in the forecast, right? Like, seven sigma is almost impossible to comprehend. Assuming this is correct, the last time a heat wave like this would have hit the region would have been somewhere between when oxygen started to accumulate on earth and the first animals evolving. so yeah, either this is incredibly noteworthy or the standard deviation of the temperature isn't being calculated correctly.
Edit: To further put this into perspective, Excel runs out of precision at about 8.15 sigma. There are temperatures listed that are 12.5 sigma above the 1981-2010 mean. That just has to be too small a population to get a decent standard deviation, right?
Edit 2: Even if these numbers were cut in half, the 6.25 sigma would still be somewhere in the range of twice since the last dinosaurs walked the earth.
