Trump-endorsed AZ Gov candidate Kari Lake sat down for interview with ‘60 Minutes Australia,’ which aired tonight. Things when downhill fast when she was asked if she agreed with Trump that J6 defendants should get pardoned. She ends up storming off the set.

I'm a bit skeptical. Notice how many times he said, "I expect Democrats to be on board with this..."?

1. Why would not say the same for Republicans?
2. Will the fine print from his proposal include poison pills that make the bill untenable, after which he can use it to criticize Democrats for not signing because most Americans are too stupid to understand the fine print?

I hope I'm wrong.
 
It makes zero sense for Gaetz to drift left or cooperate with any Democrats in good faith. He just won re-election in FL's reddest district by almost 36 points. Also, the guy has taken tons of lobbyist and PAC money over the last 6 years, and now you're telling me he's suddenly had a change of heart and is willing to work with the opposition to cut himself off from all that sweet, sweet cash? Maybe it dried up when the underage sex trafficking allegations started?

Either it's a ploy to garner media attention so that he can ultimately claim the Democrats don't want to negotiate, like Slap said. Or maybe something is about to drop in the near future that he's desperate to distract everyone from.
 
You guys are way overthinking it...he is doing it to try and backdoor McQarthy for Speaker. He is proposing a bunch of stuff the Dems supported and he voted against to try and seem more moderate (with an assist from the media likely in play) in the hopes it causes a fight in January. (he has the nomination votes but not enough to lock in the spot) Problem of course is no one is buying any of it cause he is a terrible actor.

Hawley is playing a similar game trying to walk (or run in his case) from his rep too and seem more moderate. They see that extremism has a ceiling.
 
Maine messed up the memory cards for two cities so now they need to go and get their ballots, so the final count is delayed until tomorrow morning.
 
Absent clear evidence of malfeasance, no one will doubt the final vote except those who want to doubt the final vote.
