DIII Coaching Changes

John Briggs brings a senior from his 2023 graduating class at Cortland to Morrisville. Monica Cahill is the new assistant for the Mustangs.

Cahill has 14 points in 10 games across 3 seasons for the Red Dragons but she excelled off-ice, winning the Unsung Hero awards for the team along with academic honors and volunteering at coaching clinics.

Anyone else find it ironic that Briggs is hiring someone who from what I gather still has eligibility to suit up and play?

I remember in a previous coaching changes thread us laughing at Buff State because they included Zamboni driving in their Assistant Coach job description...now it looks like ice maintenance has fallen to the Bengal players...

Does anyone know if any other school has the players resurfacing their own rink?

Melissa Lomanto, the former head coach at Adrian and Morrisville is returning to Utica as an assistant coach under Dave Clausen, a role she held from 2005-08. She was the second ever coach for Adrian and the inaugural coach at Morrisville.

St. Olaf has posted their f/t assistant coach opening.

The outgoing coach is former Laura Hurd finalist Olivia Spellmire. Worth noting that her background as a former DIII player with assistant coaching experience at DI and DIII match the since deleted hint given upthread about the new coach at Suffolk that is supposed to be announced soon...

No. Announcement on Monday, I hear.

Makes sense for Suffolk to go with someone who has some Boston ties.

Remaining open jobs are:

Marian
Potsdam
Plymouth State
University of New England

National runner up Amherst hires Kylian Kelley, a 2023 graduate of Worcester State as their new assistant coach.

Augsburg announces Nicole Neuberger (UW-Stevens Point '22) as their new graduate assistant coach. Neuberger spent last season as the JV head coach for the Minneapolis combined hs team.

Holy S***, Emily McNamara is leaving the head post at Hamilton after 11 seasons to rejoin her alma mater Middlebury as an assistant.

This is shocking. But it has all the makings of a "head coach in waiting" situation once Bill finally hangs up the skates. I'm stunned.

Looking like this means 23-24 will be Mandigo's final season behind the bench.

Shocked. The reigning national DIII head coach of the year taking a DIII assistant coaching job...

Certainly pales in comparison to Midd's news, but Wilkes has announced they've hired 2023 Stevenson grad Tea Ferrara as their new assistant coach...

If McNamara is in fact the one to take over Middlebury and if Plattsburgh can bring Danielle Blanchard home from wherever she happens to be coaching when Houle retires, we can see the two top forwards from the 2007 championship game continue their rivalry...

Is there any word around the Plattsburgh grapevine when Houle could retire? He looks to be in pretty good health, and hasn't lost his edge at all.
