DIII Coaching Changes

Rivier chooses MaryKate Drinkwater as their new head coach. She comes from WNEU where she was a grad assistant.

UW-Superior has hired Bre Simon as their next head coach. Simon was the assistant coach for Elmira for the last two seasons. As a player Simon won the Laura Hurd Award in 2019, the youngest winner in a decade at the time she won.

St. John's Fisher has hired former RIT Head Coach and more recently the Player Development Coach at Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney Scott McDonald as their inaugural HC. McDonald was at the helm of RIT when they won the DIII natty their last season in DIII. Very solid hire...reminds me of Nazareth hiring Baudo as their inaugural HC but with even more credentials.

There are whispers going around that Julia Duquette has resigned to return to Western NY where she's from, and she's no longer on the athletic website Staff Directory...she was a coach for Bishop Kearney her two seasons between her graduation and her returning to Plattsburgh to replace Danielle Blanchard. Maybe I'm making leaps to conclusions but it could be that the Rochester-based Selects Academy moved quickly to replace McDonald... Plattsburgh has a great candidate on campus as Danielle Blanchard is working for the school's University Police Department.

Jimmy Poreda, a former goalie at Plattsburgh State, will be the new assistant at Elmira, replacing Bre Simon who was hired as the head coach at UW-Superior this offseason.

Poreda goes straight from his pro hockey career to behind the bench for the 2024 NCAA Championship runner up.

Poreda goes straight from his pro hockey career to behind the bench for the 2024 NCAA Championship runner up. And Elmira might be the only 2024 NCAA tourney participants with an all-male coaching staff this fall, which kind of highlights how rare that's become in this league

I tried to edit it but due to the degradation of the software platform this forum is built upon my edit won't save on both devices I've tried... I double checked and found I was wrong, I forgot that Adrian also has an all-male coaching staff.
