Isn't this, like, exactly the logic that led people to encourage the GOP to nominate Trump in 2016? I don't remember that working out well for anyone.

Seriously. I would think the last thing anyone would want to do right now is to give nut jobs more of a platform.

It is. And, it appears to have worked out just fine for the Billionaire class. That's all anyone in power fucking cares about.

You mean, kinda like how none of the 'concerned about civility' group*cough Hovey cough*bothered to even comment about Jill Biden getting heckled while going out for ice cream?

If Jill Biden got heckled buying ice cream, then I feel the same way about it that I expressed regarding the earlier heckling discussion. It's boorish conduct that as a society we should neither engage in nor support. I don't know anything about the ice cream incident, but honestly, I didn't know anything about the other heckling incident either until someone on here started posting about it.

Absolutely on board with it. There’s no difference between MTG and Kevin McCarthy once they’re in Congress. None. I’d rather have the obvious, overt as-holes as candidates, so at least some “moderates” are turned off by them and either vote D or stay home.
Posters on here praise Hovey. Hovey is like Ron DeSantis. No one praises Sic, despite the people starting to like his posts. Sic is Trump. They’re both dangerous in their own way, but more people are convinced Hovey argues in good faith than Sic, despite the fact Hovey never admits he’s wrong, significantly trolls, and contradicts himself and then doubles down once called out. If I ran for Congress on here against Hovey, I might lose. I think I’d beat Sic in a Reagan/Mondale landslide.

You have an interesting understanding of the word "praise."

More of a platform? They already have a fucking platform. It’s the entire GOP. Their voters want crazy. If “moderates” want crazy, we’re fucked anyways. We all know Ron DeSantis is fucking crazy, but he hides it better to the general public than Trump. Does anyone think Mike Rounds, Randy Feenstra, or Mike Garcia are any less dangerous than MTG because they appear professional? They all vote for the same exact fucking sh-t, and none of it helps democracy.

I can't disagree with any of this.

Posters have expressed approval of your apparent good faith “arguments”.

I'm going to have to take your word for it. I saw one post where someone speculated that more people had Sic on ignore than me. I guess that could be construed as praise.

Honest question...are you all fucking masochists?

One word:

Sure the D's have moved left - in comparison to the the ever more vocal Qtard/GQP wing of the Republican party. For every 1 AOC there's 5 MTG's.

And for every 5 Republicans going along with their party's lurch into fascism and voting in lockstep, there's a fossil like Joe Manchin inching to the right of his just to cling to power and protect his own nest egg.

DeSantis is evil and smart, which is scarier than evil and stupid.

Exactly. Give me the obviously stupid motherfuckers like MTG. If moderates/centrists vote for him or her in purple districts, much less blue states like Maryland, we are so, so fucked anyways.

Well also sic and joe have been through a lot since 2008. Forced gay marriage, forced abortions, forced gender changes

You forgot mandatory Drag Queen Story Hour for toddlers, CRT teaching white kids that they are inherently racist, woke Disney portraying gay characters in content for children, punishing children who don't keep their mask on at school, and all the other Fox/Breitbart/OANN/Alex Jones herp-a-derp of the week. You know, real fascism, which btw is actually a left-wing ideology because the word "socialist" was right there in the Nazi Party's full name! ;-)

No, most liberals (or anyone with a pulse) knew he was dangerous. The Dems only started supporting the idea because they thought the rest of the GOP would turn on him (which they didn't despite his attacks on them) and honestly he could barely finish a sentence. My brain still hurts from being in a room with him and listening to his bullchit...

Not to mention you are comparing local elections to the Presidential which is apples and oranges. Let's use psych's example in Maryland...all the Dem has to do is win the majority which is easier now than it would be with the other candidate. In that case it makes sense to help the crackpot win proven by the fact that Hogan is ticked off about it and fears it cost them the office. If Presidential Elections were held like state elections Hillary wins and the country isn't teetering on the brink...

It isn't always a good idea, but it is a great idea when targeted at the right candidates. The GOP used it in spades in 2020 and many Russian states have been doing it forever...though both the Russians and GOP (is that repetitive) take it a step further and pay a guy to run as a fake candidate when they need to.

Psych fucking gets it.
