RPI 2022 Off-season: Surely, We Deserve Better

Summary: Linden refused substantive comment "out of respect for RPI" and declined to answer whether he has ruled out a return to RPI. His "family advisor" (i.e. your agent before you hire the person and lose your eligibility) says he would like to go pro, but has a year left of eligibility and RPI not letting pro scouts into the building is an issue.

The Dubinsky transfer is mentioned without comment beyond his stat line.

SAJ is "transitioning out" - she has three months left and is essentially a lame duck. From the student government people I know, Dr. Schmidt has not begun his transition yet. This is just pure mistreatment by Shirley
 
Sez do you get the sense coach smith is not coming back? Why would Simon and Dubinsky enter the portal? The timing is odd
I wonder if they know Dave isn’t coming back?

Green part- Don't look like they have checked out. Whether they ever did the job at the level they were paid is and always has been a matter of serious conjecture. Whether the non compensated trustees and board members carried out their fiduciary responsibilities of oversight and control instead of being enabling and empowering spectators cheering from the sidelines is another good question.

Though buried in a long bullet point style list of May 2022 commencement procedures is that each graduate (approaching 1,300 including masters and doctorates) is only getting TWO GUEST TICKETS. Assuming every single graduate shows up that day (some do not) that is an audience capped at about 2,600 in the middle of May at an outdoor facility with seating for 5,200. With all the standing room available along the concourses (two very long ones), 6,000 is easily attainable. Hope Sez is not a senior and that his family is not getting sucked up in this lunacy.

Such restrictions 27 months in to the pandemic, which is exactly what May of 2022 will be (also exactly the entire duration of the Spanish Flu) not only now appear to be beyond absurdity but are also most defiantly not "checked out".

Other questions regarding matters such as inflated ego, extreme narcissism, self appointed delusional sense of importance to the point of believing they are actually saving the ignorant masses from themselves and potential declining mental cognition issues generally associated with the aged need to be left to those with the skill and training needed to properly access those matters.

Also wonder if any of the hierarchy in place at this time are so far detached from reality that they have not even considered the distinct possibility that they are going to get roundly booed by both graduates and guests on commencement day. Not like it has never happened before as it has not been all that long ago since commencement speaker Justice Scalia drew a healthy chorus of boos!!!
 
SAJ is a lame duck.
But to watch it, allow it to, fall apart on your way out is unforgivable.

When UND had a lame duck and a named waiting in the wings they collaborated on key decisions before the formal transition.
 
Someone needs to step in and question what is going on. This is looking like the administration is purposely sabotaging the mens program.
 
Today is 1 April 2022. There are 183 days (6 months) until RPI's next game. There are 91 days (3 months, 13 weeks) until RPI has a new president.


This is based upon 1 October 2022 for the start of next season and 1 July 2022 for the end of @#$%^.

It is hard to argue with that. They have done nothing to advance the program since they took over.
I shudder to think what the team might look like in October.
With the current players leaving, and the lack of certainty regarding the coach, how many recruits are going to go away.
This is going to be one ugly summer.
 
It certainly looks like the players are abandoning the program and the administration is not reassuring anyone as to what the plan is going forward. Has Coach Smith’s contract now expired? If that is so, technically there is no coach, correct? I see BU has fired their coach and whose nam
 
Again sorry….fat fingers.. Who is mentioned as a possible replacement for OConnell at BU? Rick Bennett. (As well as Jay Pandolfo). This looks absolutely horrible. Union is conducting interviews next week. And RPI can’t even say if things are moving forward. Maybe Dave Smith is in the running at Union? Wouldn’t that be a slap in the face to RPI!

Good news: I don't live in the CapDist any longer so I don't have to watch this up close.
Bad news: It don't look so good from 1500 miles either.

I agree. I have wondered for a while if DS is holding out to get a better commitment from RPI or see what else is out there. The players see the same thing and explore their options.
